Baled aluminum like this needs to be shredded so it can be turned into smaller, more manageable pieces that can then be recycled. In the recycling process, the bales are made for more efficient transportation but shredding is the next step. Thanks for the question!
I don not know why, but I do like watching all these shredding videos, especially the car shredding ones. I'm not in the shredding or recycling business at all, but I still enjoy watching these, no matter who makes them. One observation though: If the desire is to get big scrap into little pieces of scrap, then why is it that so many of the videos I have watched do not appear to be doing that? That is, the little pieces coming out really don't appear that much smaller then before they went in. Maybe I am missing something - I don't know. I've also seen videos where a scrap yard is putting the "little" pieces right back in the hopper. Again, not in the recycling business. I've just noticed this.
How many Ft-lbs of torque is each hydraulic motor capable of, and how many PSI exerted at the intersection of the cutting disks? (For this unit) Your shredders are amazing. I especially liked the Pri-Max shredder shredding the VW Bug.
For the benefit of those of us who come to these Shred videos for the great sounds of shredding, any chance you could cut the music during the shred itself?
I love these videos. Yet, I always wonder why it's falling directly on the floor. Someone's gotta clean that up. Have you done a video that shows what happens to all of the shredded material next? If not, will you?
So you take a perfectly compact, stable and easisy storable bail and shred it so its a pain to pick and you put it on a container so it takes way more volume than it used to...
Shredding stuff adds surface area to it. When trying to melt something, like aluminum into bars, the more surface area the stuff being melted has, the quicker it heats up. In short, it speeds up the recycling process.
LOL. I thought usually the motivation to put something through a shredder was to reduce the overall volume the material took? In this case, they've increased to volume. So what is better about the output here than the aluminum bales that you started with?
Joe Zugoola Did you hear that whoosh? That was my point, sailing over your head. My point is that either pronunciation is right, depending where you are. So if you are in the UK, then aluminium is right, and if you're in the US, then aluminum is right, and since these people in the video are obviously in America, then you where wrong to correct them, considering that where they are, the pronunciation they used is considered correct.
Nice machine, but the discharge did not look much smaller than the original scrap. perhaps that is the first step of a multi step shed process. I would want no larger than 1/2" pieces. But, what do I know, right?
ok OK... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO this might be a dumb question.. but if you threw a shit ton of wire in there like with a massive gauge would that jam it?
Doesn't seem to be shredding as much as un-bailing, strips getting through easily
So basically they took the wires off that were holding it together.
And turned it into 10 times the mess it was before haha
joe Costello it doesn't take away mass dumbass its volume
+Gyronex no, not just for liquids
more manageable before the shredding.
I think I'm obsessed with shredder videos

I'm watching baled aluminum getting shredded at 6:00 AM.
Worth it.
I can't believe this is back!
I can only imagine how many times that thing has to be painted on the side to keep it looking so pretty and shiny.

Just saw this on a tv show. Not really sure why anybody would shred those two bales. Easier to get rid of before it was shredded.
You guys need to contact Fort Knox, Kentucky. They had several thousand ammo crates needing to be shredded.
WILL IT SHRED? THAT IS THE QUESTION
MONSTER SHREDDER SMOKE! DON'T BREATHE THIS!
hahaha. but will it blend
shred a shredding machine
+Jeremy Ritz no I shredded the blender
Why is this so satisfying? idk BUT I LOVE IT
someone forgot to put a bin under the machine.....
Im so happy I stumbled upon you guys. This is like next gen "Will it blend?"
why dont you put the skip under the shredder so you dont have to clean much up
i think for its day to day use, they do
Dear Big Shredder,
How often does material go flying from the shredder?
You should also try shredding sledgehammers and/or cartons of eggs.
You guys should consider a camera mount option for all of your shredders.
"Item supposed to be shredded hits camera" "bye bye camera"
Zachinthehat
1) Get new camera.
2) Mount new camera.
3) Shred old camera.
The problem corrects itself.
Could they not put a rubbish bin under the thing? now some poor tosser has to sweep up after it.

why is destruction so entertaining?
I dunno, but something about watching aluminum get shredded is really cathartic.
What did they get out of this exactly?
Views.
JNDiamond Easier to MELT the metal when its shredded/cleaned in smaller pieces.
It's acutely pretty fun watching things be destroyed
that moment when the machine is louder than the music that has been but by editing xD
I would have another shredder under that bigger one to catch that stuff and shredd it smaller ^_^
For the benefit of those of us who come to these Shred videos for the great sounds of shredding, any chance you could cut the music during the shred itself?
Nice video, thanks.
What about shredding some motorcycles, a safe or some old industrial machines or robots ?
Love this side of TH-cam! =D
Why don't you have a hopper underneath the shredder to collect the ground up product?
You should shred a shredder
I was genuinely surprised to see the shredder lock up, even if for a moment.
1:34
OH GOD DANNY, YOU FORGOT TO MOVE THE BOX UNDER THE MACHINE, YOU HAD ONE JOB
it just makes a mess into a bigger mess?
Where is this place? I'd work there in a minute!
So would this be the first process for shredding then? It would go into another one to make it smaller?
I love these videos. Yet, I always wonder why it's falling directly on the floor. Someone's gotta clean that up.
Have you done a video that shows what happens to all of the shredded material next? If not, will you?
Kenn Leeds falling on the floor so viewers could not see the results
why am i subscribed to this
lol 2:22 made a bigger pile than the original bale.
Gotta clean it up ALL OVER AGAIN!
Foundries can't throw entire bales in their smelters, that is why you have to shred the bale post-shipping.
We're always looking for talented individuals who love shredding to join our team. :)
you should make a shredder that can shred tungsten or cesium
So you take a perfectly compact, stable and easisy storable bail and shred it so its a pain to pick and you put it on a container so it takes way more volume than it used to...
We're building one of those now.
I can't wait to see the video. :D
BUT! Will it blend?
Are the blades manually controlled or is everything electronically programmed?
Really dig your vids.
this shredder is missing caps to cover the 2 shafts on the side of the dual-shear m160 monster
Shred a shredder
great video
imagine a trailer going into a big shredder holy shit
Now that would be radical!
I love these videos :)
they need a shredder that feeds into another shredder that feeds into another.
Didn't do a good job on that type of material really! room for improvment
Do a video with that one too please :D
this is music to my ears

because it's fun
I work in auto parts, and I've always wondered, why not shred used brake pads, rotors, and drums? This could be a tough shred!
God the sound alone is just scary
Aluminium*
eraserhead
. If we were in the UK you would be right, but we're not. We're in America, so it's Aluminum.
hahaha the internet isn't in america dude :D

ENGLISH, DO YOU SPEAK IT!?
Have to say, this one is a FAIL. It's already in pieces so it didn't make it much better.
Sounds better than Nickelback.
"Who the hell needs acid rain? 1:36"
Serious question: Why is there no bin/box/container to collect the shredded material?
Shred a defective SSI Monster shredder blade?
i dont know whats so amusing about it but i cant stop watching shit being broken xD
Can it shred another monster shredder!!
that is quite a lot of torque!
Can you try to find some old shopping carts to be shredded please
Is that how they process the bales?
@bigshredder I still wanna see you shred Blendtec blenders.!
This shredder should output into another smaller shredder, the pieces were still pretty big.
Why wasn't there something left under there? It must have taken awhile to clean that up.
that must be fucking deafening to be near
Nice machine, but the discharge did not look much smaller than the original scrap. perhaps that is the first step of a multi step shed process. I would want no larger than 1/2" pieces. But, what do I know, right?
I feel bad for the guy that has to pick up all that Aluminum once it's done shredding
take that, portion it out into 4 or 5 feeds, that goes to the smaller shredders, then funneled into a big bin :D
This video made me want to use my paper shredder
Can it shred a smaller one of itself???
Why shred this stuff? What is the benefit? Faster burn times? Better recycling?
Someone forgot to place a container below the shredder haha :P
How price for this Laframh whether I can be exported to Saudi Arabia
Do you guys ever put a waste bin under the shredders? I'd HATE to be a janitor there!
rip headphones will allways rembembers
Q: What's less manly than this job?
A: see: list of things made out of atoms
There was already an arcade game... I think it's still online, just try to search in the channel :)
0:32 did you misspell "Balled"?
Hey bigshredder! What type of steel are those rotating blades made from? s30v?
What was it they were shredding
u should put a bunch a pennies in the shredder lol
how about an old lift truck? counter weight and all
I don't see what good that did made a big mess its not cut small just threw around and made bigger and messier !!
you can transport more in one load. less air space.
I'm gonna be honest, I'm pretty sure half the reason they do this is purely cuz it's fun.
Probably right. But I have heard it makes it easier to melt not sure though !!
lol its cool but it just made the nice clean stack kinda unmanagable
...and where is the shredding? looks like it sifted it
SHRED A SOLID BLOCK OF CAST IRON
1:20 perfect ringtone. :D
K, guys get out your tin snips, we need all of those large pieces cut under 12"... YESTERDAY.
But will it blend
ok OK... SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
this might be a dumb question.. but if you threw a shit ton of wire in there like with a massive gauge would that jam it?
Aluminium smoke, don't breathe this!
