How can you not have Scream on this list? It's one of the most iconic whodunit movies and is still going consistently strong with the 6th film coming out in 2 months.
@@RexBanner_ Yeah except it isn't deliberate, my comment is the only one talking about it and there aren't any others. Left off the list because they either forgot about it or didn't think it qualified.
Hi can you help me to find a movie which I watched when I was about 7 or 8 years old watched a movie clip, let me explain that in which three or two or four robbers break into a house and they were looking for something precious and in the house there are attacked by two Doberman dogs after fighting with them in jumping here and there they finally escapes from house, and after that they are chased by the police so I think one of them is caught by police and the two of them jump from high building into another building and finally they break into an apartment through window in which a girl is listening to high music wearing headphones and she couldn't hear that noise of glass that the robbers are coming to the house and after sometime his father or his husband comes and shouts and that is where the scene ends.
There are great whodunnits on streaming and tv. The John malcovitch poirot is great. The John cussack movie identity Of course the old David Suchet poirot. I would say the Gary oldman Tinker Tailor Soilder Spy is maybe the best recent whodunnit, but it is so dense that it is very hard for a viewer to guess the mole. But the clues are there so you could guess and all the 5 suspects are equally suspicious at the start. Scream is also a good whodunnit. Weird for such a popular book and tv genre not many movies, and the best are in other genres.
It's my fav genre. Unfortunately I've watched all of the movies in this list. There isn't just enough good whodunit movies. Last year wasn’t kind enough too. Knives out 2 was complete garb.
I have watched almost all whoddunnit movies on the planet as i love the genre. The most amazing whodunnits, the best out of the best are the 3 below. 1) The Last of Sheila - Underrated classic 2) And then there were none(1940s) - Agatha christie adaptation 3) Sad Cypress - Hercule Poirot from agatha christie Watch it with your friends, family and enjoyy
Seems half the list aren’t whodunnits. Don’t get me wrong love all these movies below. Momento isn’t a who dunnit. It is hard to define its genre, but there is no enough reliability in the protagonist, mystery solvers perception for the audience to guess what really happened or who the real killer was at the end. Seven isn’t a whodunnit, come on. There isn’t a bunch of suspects and clue that let you the watcher figure out the killer, there only ever was one suspect and they found him with one one illegal search of his reading history. Clue is a comedy based on whodunnits but has three endings, so again no careful set of clues leading to what happened and the real killer. Again the viewer has no chance to solve it based one clues. Chinatown and La confidential are more a noir detective mystery,as there aren’t several clear suspects. They might be termed Whatisgoingon rather than Whodunnit.
The Afterparty is a great tv show Murder mystery. Highly recommend it

Totally agree. It may actually be a horror movie as a basis, but that movie is the king of suspense.
Deliberately left off the list to trigger emotion and more importantly, comments.
It's 2023, how do people not get how TH-cam works?

Nah, this list for detective movies, while scream is just like the creator can randomly choose anyone to be the murder as they want and we dont care.
The list is for detective films or films like that. Scream is more of a horror film
Great movie 🔥❤️🔥
Seriously, no Death by murder? If you like Clue, you must include that old classic
Dam that's a good recommendation. Thanks.
Can you recommend me some more...
Usual Suspects ⭐️
I love Gosford Park, even if the actual murder doesn't happen until three quarters into the film.

Murder by Death?
Hilarious movie
I maintain that pre-Gladiator Russell Crowe was untouchable.
15:31 hadn't he watched Gene Kelly dancing with Jerry the Mouse? Or Mary Poppins? Or Bedknobs and Broomsticks?
What planet are you from if you don’t mention death on the nile (1978)
I love Agatha Christie's work and all whodunits. My favourite genre.

I recommend reading "The Secret Art of Murder" by Raymond Chandler.
Knives out my favorite movie
trash from start i already figure who done it.
In the Heat of the Night with iconic Sidney Poitier should be on the list too.
Kevin Spacey.......there, I said what you were afraid to say!

This list SUCKS... There's nothing from before 1970...
Scream invented who done its…
no??? whodunnits have been around since way before scream
