In 1971 at the tender age of 16, I purchased a 1968 Z-28 in that same exterior color but with black interior from a close (and older) friend who had bought it new. He got a girl pregnant and needed to sell to get money for his soon to be wedding. The car had 1,500 miles on the odo. What a great car that created many great memories.
Wouldn't be a Friday without the latest Coffee Walk episode. Alex knocked it out of the park with his 1970 Challenger Resto Mod. Dennis thank you for sharing all the amazing cars. Normally I have a favorite but whoa couldn't make a choice this week. I get the bittersweet part of selling the Ferrari 488 Challenge Car.
Dennis Collins was well raised bred and well educated. His tendency to think of others first is a tell of sorts as D.C. is a giver. It’s a shame that not all that are close picked that up. Great show !

I grew up in Garland on the edge of Wylie and as a teen in the 90s me and my brother would go out to Collins Bros Jeeps and buy a few of the rusty crap 4 banger wranglers they had and build them back up after paying way more than they were worth (5 grand each) for their age in the mid 90s. To this day we still have those Jeeps and their value has not only maintained but increased exponentially. It was wicked seeing Dennis go from a family shop of Jeeps to being involved with Gas Monkey and realising he was a used car salesman in disguise as he was a true car guy. Everytime I see him in it brings back stopping off in Wylie to grab some Outlaw's BBQ on 78 and headed tot heir shop to buy some part for something that had rusted off our wranglers 🤣

The 68 Z28 is one of my favorites but Alex's 70 charger is one badass ride. These are the cars we all dream of owning one day. Thanks for keeping these cars alive for all of our kids and grandkids to see. Hopefully they will appreciate it and keep them alive and well. Thank you Dennis and your team for doing an amazing job.

I hadn't read the comments yet til now, but I made a suggestion/ request for Dennis to do that same very thing in honor of all his dedication and sacrifice to his work for all the car community and beyond. For Dennis to unknowingly buy it back and surprise Alex with it later on in the Year, wouldn't that be a total bonus for a great person.

My first car was a beautiful’73 Challenger with the 4 speed Hurst pistol grip … still dream about driving it. Alex’s Challenger is absolutely stunning! It should bring him the cash he needs. Life moves on, and there will be more cars in his future.
Investors and collectors will be feeling the recent price depreciation. If it’s just about the money it makes sense to sell before prices fall further. If you’re buying as an enthusiast the depreciation is irrelevant as the driving and owning experience remains the same and prices will recover at some point in the future.

Last really GOOD one I knew of was Big Easy in Plano...and they closed 10 years ago. Lots of cool cars being released back into the wild. Makes you wonder what the plan is with all that cash? haha. I use to ride with my Uncle in his 190SL had a red interior. Always ran fine. Not a race car but handled very nice. Ride is excellent. Beautiful car .
