Hello 84com84. The Th.Mortier dance organ built in 1927 model number 1010. Plays Tuesday to Sunday. And yes, you can play with either cardboard notes or MIDI. If you have any questions, just write them in the comments as always, okay, thank you very much. Greetings from me.
It's a self-playing organ, they were really popular with fancy hotels and fairgrounds back in the 1920s and 30s. You could basically have an entire orchestra play by itself in a single machine. They worked through a complex system of clockwork. Think like how a music box works, but on a much larger and more complicated scale. You put in a paper reel with little marks cut out in it, and depending on the placement of those marks it would play different notes on different instruments. Purely mechanical, they're really marvels of engineering. Look up the Arburo Orchestrion for a really neat one, albeit a bit smaller.
Good sounding Mortier! Happy New Year!

Who is playing the organ, or is it automatic, and how?
