Fantastic video. So many good memories packed into this video for me. I was bought up in Brightlingsea and I spent many happy days wild camping along the estuary. My first ever girlfriend lived in wivenhoe and I lived at the Hythe in Colchester for several years. Thanks for sharing this 😊😊😊😊
hi tom and Dawn what a lovely video of the estuary and coastline and beautiful walk its lovely to Discover new walks and places to go and see. poor ron all that moveing lol i bet he was glad he didnt have to moveron any more stay safe and will see you on the next one 😀
Another great video, Tom. Lovely walk and history (which I love) along the way. Like the new setup and you can tell the difference in your recent content. This time of year can be great - if it’s not raining. Poor Ron.
Having a bit of a binge watch mate. Love the video love the history of all the old buildings. Can’t wait until me and Justine get over there. PS happy birthday
Thanks Guys Really nice to see more of the county I was born in. Not having much luck with the wind, from memory you had had a few issues with it last video😉😁 Thanks for posting Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it mate. It's probably due to the fact that I am always trying to find a spot where the photos and footage will look better rather than the sensible sheltered spot! The two rarely go hand in hand!
I walked this in the 1980's. Great area! According to my map there was a footpath going across Arlesford Creek! Of course, I discovered there isn't! But I took a rowing boat ferry from Brightlinsea so I could continue on to St. Osyth. One dramatic moment was when I rescued a seagull caught in a thorn bush. I got a bloody hand and no thanks from the bird! There's still a bloody mark on my map. Yes - poor old Ron!
Great vid :), Don't chuck your old hexagon stove away, the bend in the metal can be easily sorted with a blow torch and a but of elbow grease to straighten it, Fix it and pass it on now you have two :) Cheers
Many happy returns for your 35th. As a lifelong Colchester resident, I rather enjoyed this vlog. During the first 2020 lock down, I did a series of walks along the estuary including the route you took, so the vlogs scenery looked very familiar. It's quite exposed along the whole route, so I'm glad I did it in summer. As you pointed out, the route mostly uses the old 'Crab and winkle' railway line from Wivenhoe to Brighlingsea which was a victim of the Beeching cuts in the 60s.
If its the one I think you mean, it's a new zip up hooded fleece from OEX. It's quite chunky and bulky but so warm and comfy. Good zips and pockets, deep hood.
It’s amazing Tom when you force your way out your front door in the cold wet January what you can find. Well done on getting out there again
It sure is. Cheers mate.

Sadly my 87 year old dad who loved watch your videos eating his tea passed away from a stroke last week. He would have loved this.
So sorry to hear mate. My condolences. Hope you're doing OK. I'm proud to of had him as a loyal follower 🙏
Sorry to here about your Dad.
Take care mate.
Cheers
Tom, great video, what jacket was it you where wearing under your puffer jacket and would you recommend it?

Hi Tom great video as always. Are the spots got set up and camp in legal camping spots? Or do you just chance it? Thanks Nathan
Mixture of planning and just chancing it.
Tom when did you go out on this trip please trying to convince my wife all year is good to go out
January. No such thing as bad weather. Only bad planning and poor equipment choices! 🤣
why did the soldiers paint their pill boxes bright colours ? The Germans would have spotted them from miles away.
🤣🤣🤣
