None of the contemporary bands sounded anything like this. Such a unique sound! Such creativity. Such POWER! I remember having to point out to people back then that this is not POP...this is something entirely different. Just check out the lyrics: Was that somebody screaming It wasn't me for sure I lift my head up from uneasy Pillows Put my feet on the floor Cut my wrist on a bad thought And head for the door Outside on the pavement The dark makes no noise I can feel the sweat on my lips Leaking into my mouth I'm heading out for the steep hills They're leaving me no choice And see, as our lives are in the making We believe through the lies and the hating That love goes free For want of an option I run the wind 'round I dream pictures of houses burning Never knowing nothing else to do With death comes the morning Unannounced and new Was it too much to ask for To pull a little weight, They forgive anything but greatness These are scoundrel days And I'm close to calling out their names As pride hits my face See, as our lives are in the making We believe through their lies and the hating That love goes free through Scoundrel days I reach the edge of town I've got blood in my hair Their hands touch my body From everywhere But I know that I've made it As I run into the air And see, as our lives are in the making We believe through the lies and the hating That love goes free Through scoundrel days
Thank you for reacting to one of my favourite a-ha songs. This is a masterpiece of a song in terms of sound and lyrics and they have countless masterpieces. A-ha is one of the best bands existing they created a very special and new category of music. It's not quite rock, pop, jazz or blues but a mixture/symbiosis of all these categories packed into a melancholy box.
A-ha broke through with a bang and the first album is fantastic, but my impression is that most fans consider the second album to be a better album, and one of the band's best. It's packed with goodies and this fantastic song didn't even become a single.
Hi thanks for reacting to A-HA again this time Scoundrel Days. It’s the title track off their second album and it’s a great track definately high in my list of my favourite A-HA tracks. Hope fully you’ll continue to react to A-HA they have so many great tracks to choose from. Maybe you could react to A-HA’s manhattan skyline next cause you would really love that one or ive been losing you or sycamore leaves from NRK 1991. Take care 😘 ❤️🇳🇴❤️A-HA FOREVER❤️🇳🇴❤️ 🎸🎹🎤 🥇🥇🥇🫠🥰
@@Abbadonhades Great choice. My favourite song changes every few weeks. However... East of the Sun hits me in the chest every time and I'd recommend almost anything from that album too.

Was that somebody screaming
It wasn't me for sure
I lift my head up from uneasy
Pillows
Put my feet on the floor
Cut my wrist on a bad thought
And head for the door
Outside on the pavement
The dark makes no noise
I can feel the sweat on my lips
Leaking into my mouth
I'm heading out for the steep hills
They're leaving me no choice
And see, as our lives are in the making
We believe through the lies and the hating
That love goes free
For want of an option
I run the wind 'round
I dream pictures of houses burning
Never knowing nothing else to do
With death comes the morning
Unannounced and new
Was it too much to ask for
To pull a little weight,
They forgive anything but greatness
These are scoundrel days
And I'm close to calling out their names
As pride hits my face
See, as our lives are in the making
We believe through their lies and the hating
That love goes free through
Scoundrel days
I reach the edge of town
I've got blood in my hair
Their hands touch my body
From everywhere
But I know that I've made it
As I run into the air
And see, as our lives are in the making
We believe through the lies and the hating
That love goes free
Through scoundrel days

Oh, coincidence, 'Melancholy box' was almost my username !. I'm joking it was going to be 'Morten's wet socks'.
Considered one of their ABSOLUTELY best by fans.

Manhattan skyline and I’ve been losing you for more of the power vocals
Also cinematic mood for both of those.
I've been loosing you is my absolute favourite.

Morten Harket tem a voz mais linda da história da música pop.
You know the phrase of the 'Difficult second album'.... Well a-ha made it look easy. The drummer's high hat is going hell for leather!
My favourite song ever.
As Google probably would tell you: A-ha is a Norwegian band
The first 3 albums are the best. Scoundrel Days has a real drummer.
