Now this is the type of content we truly appreciate. No mindless bashing or lazy comparisons. Just an earnest and honest food vlog appreciating foods across the causeway. We need more people like you that truly appreciates the differences and giving credit if it’s due. As a Singaporean, I love foods from Malaysia too! It’s not a case of who does it better, rather enjoying how the same dish can be interpreted for various palettes.

Nobody can truly judge whose Chicken Rice is better, as everyone have individual Taste Buds.
I really don't understand why when come to food Malaysian always like to compare which is better.
Each and every Countries have their own best food.
If wanted to fight like S'pore food mostly originated from Malaysia, then Malaysia Food also originated from China, Indonesia, and India according to where the ancestors originated from.
So, why keep comparing, both are Equally Good in their own Taste and Culture.

Chicken rice originated from Hainan Island in China. It was our ancestors from Hainan who brought it to Singapore and Malaysia. Bak Kut Teh is a traditional Chinese soup from the Hokkien (Fujian) and Teochew (Chaozhou) regions in China, and the Singapore and Malaysian versions were improvised by our ancestors who worked at the Singapore and Klang ports. While the Klang version is the Hokkien Herbal Soup version, Singapore has both the Hokkien Herbal and the Teochew Pepper versions. It really doesn't matter whether they were started in Singapore or Malaysia, as like most Chinese food in the region, they were mostly originated from different parts of China. The world has more than 200 countries, it is more than just Singapore and Malaysia.

Makes a lot of sense! Actually after we ate (around 3pm) the Q was almost gone at Heng Heng's.

I have tried all famous chicken rice in the north. None of them even come close to Singapore's top tier. Their top tier is at most standard hawker / kopitiam standard.

I have drawn the conclusion most locals here have no idea the real taste of chicken.
