I have same filter.and i did an update....i changed the impeller for a little big one..results amazing...skimmer very strong right now

Doe the surface skimmer work.

Yes it does , sometimes may have to tweak the skimmer manually if there is any accumulated dirt particles

Does this work as oxygen pump as well?

Nope...the water flow thru skimmer can create bit of surface aeration ,but not like an oxygen pump

Tanks not very clear with this filter system very murky water ur tank has

The video was recorded while it was installed in a new tank setup, hence the waterr murky , it does the job well
