Metal drummers are good at playing with speed and endurance, the jazzier guys always bring the groove eg., Steve Gadd, Billy Cobham, etc... but a solid drummer regardless of genre always plays "for the song". I'm a guitar player but one of the drummers in my book that never seems to disappoint is Paul McCartney's guy, Laboreal. I think that's his name. He is so solid, steady and does exactly what the song calls for. He's such a natural that you can pretty much guess what he will do next and chances are, you'll be right. In some music, predictability and flow is a good thing.
Drummer is just addition to programmed drum machine that plays at the background. If there were only live drums it would have been sounded very different (and probably less cool for such track).

I have to say, even though this is an earlier performance of the song, no matter which guitar player she's got backing her up throughout this song, this dude still does it the best. He may not be as good or as technical as some of the other guitar players she's had, but he's melodic and adds a vibe to the song whereas the other dudes Ive seen play the frickin song think that when it's time for the solo, it's a green light to just shred incoherently. They don't get that, with a song like this, less is always more. This beat just doesn't need a shred solo behind it.

I was totally obsessed with this song. It was incredible. I must have watched that video with her comming out of the helicopter a million times. It's got a despair emotional relevance. I was being illegally charged for a bunch of crimes that not only did I not commit but they weren't actually even crimes, it was a really weird legal issue, see pod cast same name as my channel. But I felt helpless and this song got me in the emotional state to recognize how my reality was so messed up and how it was affecting me. I came out on top but I was preparing for my court cases and would take a break and listen to this song on TH-cam.

I was totally obsessed with this song. It was incredible. I must have watched that video with her comming out of the helicopter a million times. It's got a despair emotional relevance. I was being illegally charged for a bunch of crimes that not only did I not commit but they weren't actually even crimes, it was a really weird legal issue, see pod cast same name as my channel. But I felt helpless and this song got me in the emotional state to recognize how my reality was so messed up and how it was affecting me. I came out on top but I was preparing for my court cases and would take a break and listen to this song on TH-cam.
