Hi Yulia. Great and interesting video as always :). I'm a French Portuguese guy living in Montreal for 5 years so I get the comparisons between the two cities haha You're right, rent has skyrocketed in Lisbon, it's unbelievable.. I pretty much noticed the same points that you mentioned. For coffee in Lisbon, if you go to typical Portuguese cafés, an espresso or a galão (=latte) is actually much cheaper than in Montreal. It's true that you will find less variety than in Montreal in these places but the quality is usually there. And for Bixi (Montreal public bikes), the season is from April 15 to November 15, 7 months (which is way less than a year, you are right!). They are going to test Bixi during winter in some parts of the city this year. And for food, Portugal is still cheaper even if prices have gone up a lot (I once bought Portuguese olive oil in Montreal cheaper than in Lisbon..!). But to be honest, quality of produce, fruits and vegetables is much better in Portugal and more affordable. Looking forward to watching your next video ! Julien
Hey Hey ! ! ! Yulia ! I live in Montreal And the (tap) water I drink is good and FREE I think you forgot to mention that Throw in a bit of "Petite vache" (H2CO3) and you have your alkaline H2O
@@ThisisYulia please are really need your help. I’m currently living in west Africa,Ghana. I will be completing high school next year July 2024. I will really need some private information from you pertaining how to become an international student in Canada.♥️♥️♥️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇬🇭🇬🇭🙏🏽🙏🏽
Great video, Yulia, thank you) Got my Canadian Visa yesterday, but still Europe gives me more pleasant vibe with approach to urbanism (city development) and easy travel. However, housing prices in major cities of Europe are insane. But in Canada, according to my research, the situation is not so different (if we leave Montreal outside the brackets, cause you know about bureaucracy and other oddities in Québec). I'm still thinking Canada would be a good place to stay for a few years or even settle.
Very helpful video. Thanks! We are planning to move to Lisbon from Toronto soon. In Toronto downtown, we are paying 2500 CAD for a 1+den (55m2 condo). I guess both cost of living and rent we'll pay less in Lisbon.
Hey Yulia, love your videos but could you do a video about the healthcare system in Portugal? I've been hearing nightmare stories about Canada so I'd like to know if the system is better anywhere else
Interesting, thank you Yulia! BC Canada is a different story, Vancouver is much more in price than Montreal. Re dinner - a dinner for 1 person without drinks and deserts can be cad$18-50+, I suppose it is 15-35 euros depending how cancy the place is, not familiar witg high end restaurants. Cost per dish on average is cad $15-35+. I've lived in Vancouver since 2009 and it became super expensive for food and rentals. Indeed it is ridiculous how many places ask now for 18-20% tips, some do not even give 10-15% as an option. My income has always been below poverty line sadly yet I diligently paid 15% everywhere I went (if service was poor 10%). Crazy!
Yulia it would be great to have a collab with you once I am back to vlogging and my channel grows :). It can be an interview or discussion on some topic (in English).
After 6 years working on a job right after bachelors degree I was thinking for a masters as my 2 employers support remote work I was looking Canada and Portugal I will take Portugal as its so cheap like 5000 eur per year for same in Canada cost like 35000 EUR
I was robbed and attacked by the person I rented from in the Algarve. The police do not care. Only use internationally known RE agents: Engel & Völkers, Long and Foster, ReMax, Coldwell Bankers International, etc. I've heard of other foreigners having similar issues.
you totally can. however, that's not good motivation for me. the only motivation that actually works for me is going to classes in a studio, otherwise I'll give up on that haha
@@ThisisYulia Fair enough That's why I was mentioning forming a "club" of similarly motivation seachers ... whilst remaining Zen ;-) ... just making converstion and thinking out loud, don't mind me
This plan costs 120€ at Nos's website now, so I think we got a pretty good deal. Please bear in mind that we have Internet 1gbps, 2 cell phones with 20GB each, TV and regular phone. I don't think that type of plan would cost less with other providers
Hello Ok so most of your info was good however some of your info was inorrect. For example the gas prices … yes those prices are correct however you are comparing 94 to 88 … portugal has better gas as there lowest rating where here in canada we get some pretty shitty gas for cheap. Also rent Yes montreal maybe cheaper however most ppl live in the gta and unfortunately over here rent is 2000$ - 2500$ for a studio appt owned by some pretty shitty ppl … there is no rent control for the most part. Lastly You comparison is unfair your comparing Lisbon to montreal… you should be comparing Lisbon to toronto ( biggest city to biggest city) if you did that im sure Lisbon would win bar none
Excellent in-depth analysis. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!

Hi Yulia. Did you lose your Health insurance in Canada since now you live in PT.? Which company you use for Health insurance in PT?
I did lose my RAMQ. I got Aegon Insurance in Portugal + I use the public system from time to time
Thank you 😊

привет, пожалуйста! источник гугл: говорит средняя зп по стране 60к в год)
Sales tax in Quebec is 14.975%, not 18% (QST 9.975% + GST 5%).
thanks! I know that but I don't know what I kept saying 18% lol 💀

140€ for 4 people?
What did you eat, lobster?
a round of appetizers, a round of mains and 1 bottle of wine 🌞
Так топила за Канаду, а теперь говнишь 🤨 по-любому лучше Рашки
очень интересно как вы по сравнению фактов решили за кого я топила и за кого топлю сейчас 🤔
