The Certate is a real slick unit, just outta my price range. Thanks for the reel review though. Wish I could get down south and catch some drum and redfish, looks like a hoot!
Some great catches buddy! Enjoyed it and excited for the opportunity at the giveaway, which is awesome! Very generous of you! Thanks for sharing this!
Nice looking reel! Those drum were a good test for it. Thanks for sharing!
Couldn’t get over how you opened the box. Went to next video.
@@michaeldelacruz7770 haha to each their own! I’m more concerned with what’s in the box than the box itself personally.
The drum were excited to see the new rig.
This video made my mine up for me...I want a certate....the twin power can wait. Good action video. Subbed.
Hey mate just watched your old Saltiga review video. How does the 3000 Certate compare to the new saltiga? I know there different sizes and also half the price where I live ahahaa, but interested to see what daiwa chose to keep in and out of each reel
Hey, thanks! First off they’re both phenomenal reels. Easily both in my top three spinning reels I own. Although I haven’t really owned the new certate long enough to really put it through a bunch of fish and some abuse. So check back with me in 6 months to see how it holds up, but right now it’s phenomenal.
They kind of serve different purposes in my opinion, with the saltiga being much heavier due to its ultra salt-proof build, and the certate being much lighter and I imagine not as durable.
But the Certate is a dream to use so I would personally say if you plan on using it in the salt all the time then go with the saltiga.
But if you’re mainly gonna be going for species under 10-15kg in fresh water with some salt use every now and then get the Certate. They’re both excellent reels. The saltiga feels more like a heavy duty “never-gonna-fail” workhorse, and the Certate feels more refined and eloquent. Kinda like comparing an off-road truck and a sports car! Again, I personally love them both.
Love the sound on that reel!
Beautiful!
Nice action 💯💪
I’ve been looking at buying this exact model Certate, how would you say the durability is on it. I fish saltwater pretty heavy under occasionally strenuous conditions so I’m deciding on this one or the LT4000-C. Great video, I’ve checked out some of the other ones too.
So I haven’t had the reel long enough to really know how durable it is, in the 2-3 months I’ve had it, I fish everyday and I’ve put it through some abuse with zero issues so far! Check back in with me in 6 months to see if it holds up after extended use. I’d say it’s a good middle ground between their ultralight reels like the airity and exist, and their heavy salt reels like the certate SW. not quite as light as the exist, but it feels much more solid and less fragile than the exist. It’s kind of the perfect spinning reel in my opinion, if it still holds up good in 6 months or so I’m definitely replacing a few of my other reels with more certates.
Wow if you’ve been fishing it like that it must be good for whatever you put it up against. I agree, this is one of the best models for the Certate. It has an all around gear ratio with enough drag to pull in small, medium and large sized fish. Plus dude, it’s crazyyy clean🔥. Thanks for the reply and review it’s honestly the best one I’ve seen for the Certate, and I’ve looked at a lot right now since I’ve been deciding on getting one lol.
@@diegorico9321 thanks so much for checking out my vids! If you haven’t seen them already, I have multiple vids up now of this reel in action!
And yeah whenever a serious new reel comes out, I always try to get it quick to be one of the first to put up footage of it in action!
Did it last year with the saltiga, and now with the certate, lots more coming soon!
Nothing wrong with some drum action, decent fighters. 😊😊
Looks really good! Some really nice catches!
I just received my 24 Certate 3000 from Amazon Japan today. And yes, it is extremely smooth and responsive to start and stop. However, that being said. I believe that there is excess play in the gear engagement. When you crank the handle there is play/movement before the rotor spins. If you hold the rotor with your hand, you can wiggle/move the handle back-and-forth ever so slightly and feel the spacing in the gearing. On every rotation of the handle, you can feel a minor clunk as the gearing engages. I have two Diawa Kage MQ 3000s and the play in the gearing I am describing is less than half on the Kage’s than the new Certate. Anyone else experience this?? I’m thinking of returning it and either getting another one from a different vendor or going right to the 22 exist? Thank you in advance for any responses.
I think you may have received a defective one. I now have two of these certates, one 3000 and one 4000 and neither have any play in the handle when I tried what you described. That sucks to hear, because Daiwa is usually really good with quality control in my experience. I would definitely send it back if you can, I wouldn’t accept that myself.
how does it compare to your 4000 saltiga? keen to hear your thoughts.
Hey sorry for such a late reply, its much more similar to the exist than the saltiga. The saltiga is definitely heavier, and feels like a tank in a good way, but the certate is very light. Not quite as light as the exist, but feels stronger than the exist to be honest. The certate drag is much louder than the saltiga, but the saltiga does seem to have an easier time with big fish.
Hello! Daiwa Certate 2024 or Shimano Twin Power? it seems more qualitative daiwa certate 24, more cohesive.
Hey! I don’t have the new 2024 twin power, so I can’t say much about it, but I do have the twin power fd. I liked the twin power fd more than the 2019 certate, but I like this new 2024 certate more than either of them! It definitely feels more solid than the 2019 certate.
Hey guys, just got mine today, the 5000 one, but it makes weird noise when reeling, like the gear/bearing is not properly greased or something, hard to describe and kind of weird at the same time since it’s brand new out of the box, but i wonder if you encountered the same experience? Thanks in advance.🤝🏼
@@classydriimz1403did you get it fixed or returned? I just returned mine for a refund not sure if I’ll be ordering another or getting a stella.
Hi, I just got mine today, the 5000 one, but it makes weird noise when reeling, like the gear/bearing is not properly greased or something, hard to describe the sound, however it’s very weird since its brand new out of the box, just for my curiosity I compared it with my stella fk and indeed it makes that weird reeling sound, but i wonder if you encountered the same experience? Thanks in advance…
That’s very odd! Sometimes Daiwa will over-grease reels when they box them up. It’s why a lot of people seem to find that their Daiwa gets smoother over time. There should be several guides on TH-cam on how to remove the excess grease, if that doesn’t fix it then send it to Daiwa. They’re pretty good about replacing factory defective reels
i wanna see you send this reel to Brasil i need one of this for snnok fishing
Nice drag sound.
Oh my god, king fish, nice reed Create
Looks nice!
Looks Nice!
Liked/sub'd - keep 'em spinning☝
airity is good too
I need help for purchasing for my special someone for ocean fishing rod any Recommendation for this brand ranges 200-700 range ty
What kind of ocean fishing? Which species will you be catching? Are you gonna be on a boat, on the shore, or on a dock/pier? What kind of lures are you gonna use and how heavy are they?
If you answer all those questions I should be able to recommend a great rod, you don't want the wrong rod for the wrong kind of fishing!
Halibut, salmon 2) boat 3) automatic one (sorry not familiar) i only hear him talking to friends just want to surprise him for his bday ty
where the big hybrids? haha
Nowhere to be seen… maybe once this water drops back down to ideal levels, we shall see!
Sick reel, and sick footage!
Which better, Stella or Certate?
They do different things better. I think the Stella lays like better than any reel I’ve ever used, but apart from that I much prefer the certate. It’s lighter, but still solid, and I think I actually like the drag a bit more. The Stella drag may be a little more traditionally “smooth” but the Certate drag is almost like violent in a good way. Doesn’t feel like the reel is gonna explode or anything, but it feels a bit more “lively”. Idk, it’s hard to describe.
All that to say, both are phenomenal reels and you would be happy with either, but personally I prefer fishing with the Certate. Let’s check back in around 6 months from now and see if that’s still true, I’ve only had this reel a couple weeks now
Stellas should be compared to Saltigas. Certate vs twinpower. Frankly Daiwa outshine both Shimano reels imo. I prefer the Certate LT reels to Twinpower, but the Twinpower SW over the Certate SW. The current Stella isn't as bulletproof as the 2013 imo. The 20 Saltiga is the mac-daddy! I haven't fished or own a 23 Saltiga yet so I can't give you an opinion. They only come in 6k size reels or smaller
@@slyarsenal saltwater Stella’s should be compared to saltigas, normal Stella’s should be compared to exist! I have twin power, exist, Stella, and saltiga, and this new certate may be my fav
@@AikenAngling I was comparing saltwater stellas to Saltigas lol. Why would I compare a freshwater Stella to a Saltiga? The SW Stella doesn't even come close to the Saltiga, never mind the freshwater one haha.
@@AikenAnglingActually this Daiwa is 225g and the Stella FK c3000xg is 210g, so no, this certate is heavier. Besides, as already been said the Certate being lower tier model should not be compared to Stella but to the 24 Twin power c3000XG that's 215g, and lighter then this Certate as well. The Shimano TP have the same slow oscillation like the Stella FK 😊, as well as other technology that trickled down from Stella.
What size reel for trout?Anyone
I wanna win 😂
Boring fishing
Very loud reel, ridiculously loud taking the price point. Is that the reason you done this unboxing outdoors with a lot of background noise? Birds, cars well done biased sponsored "review".
I contacted Daiwa, apparently the loud winding noise is normal due to some coating of the interia, yeah right. I hate this thing.
@@JurgenManifesto-gr2rb jeez my bad man, what happened with your certate? Both of mine work great. And sorry if you think I’m biased, I love shimano and daiwa. I have two shimano Stella’s and I like the certate more personally so I’m sorrry yours has problems.
@@AikenAngling What you mean what happened to my certate? Daiwa said its nornal noise but even my fuego doesn't make this noise. I wish it wasn't because I like the looks of it and obviously the specs on paper. Frustrating but since I didn't even spool it up I shouldn't have a problem spelling it to some die hard Daiwa fanboy at some loss on eBay.
I have 2 Daiwa Labrax ags rods and they are great but I will not invest in another Daiwa expensive reel. Most Daiwa's reel reviews are a bit fishy I niticed, youtubers adoring it to some absurd hights where in fact they are not that great.
Funny, here in the UK I never seen anybody use Daiwa reels for shore lure fishing. If they were that great surely there would be some anglers using it.
@@JurgenManifesto-gr2rb well I’m sorry yours made noise, mine are both silent and way quieter than the new shimano twin power. I have both. And man it’s totally fine if you don’t like daiwa reels, it’s all personal preference. Personally I like daiwa reels more than any other, but that’s just my opinion. I’m not saying you’re wrong for having your own opinion. It’s alright for us to disagree!
@@AikenAngling I am not saying I don't like daiwa reels. I had bad luck with the few top end I bought over the years from Daiwa. Having said so I really like my ballistic mq and this thing goes with me on all fishing holidays except for scandinavia in winter where I use the BG heavier duty reel for cod. Both great. Apart from that I use Vanquish and TP for anything lure fishing from the UK shore.
I must admit as much as I like Shimano reels they have more play on the handle than the Daiwa's, which is not great but not really noticeable much when fishing.
I am about to send my Certate back to digitaka, I emailed them the video of the noise and they agreed to send the replacement.
Is not i dont like Daiwa reels, I just seem to unlucky with their upper class models. Hopefully the replacement will end this bad luck because this reel looks on my Daiwa labrax ags fricking great. Well it looks great, period.
I am sorry i came accross a little too much but i was so p.... off about the fault on my model. Its the 4000cxh btw.
Tight lines and keep them videos coming. Cheers mate.
@@JurgenManifesto-gr2rb it’s all good brother, I would be frustrated as hell if either of my certates had arrived with problems like that. I’m glad digitaka is gonna play ball and help you out. Cheers dude, good luck next time you’re on the water!
Really beautiful reel. Daiwa nailed it on this
