MyHeritage DNA Test - I didn't expect this.
As a " Macedonian " I didn't expect this test result that i got from myheritage DNA .
The test revealed more than me just being from the Balkan. interesting founding for people that originate from this region of the Balkan.
MyHeritage DNA was my choice. I am open to others such as 23andme etc. I am not 100% convinced that this is the full explanation of all the Nations in my genetic blueprint. I am sure there is a way to see it in more detail.

The so called " northern greeks" (which DNA match with Bobbys DNA) are bulgarians, the truly inhabitants in those regions, not like the one's, that came from Mala -Asia after the war between Greece and Turkey, which was lost from Greece, so all the greek reffugies from Asia were settled by the Greek government in today's "Northern Greece " pushing to the north (to Bulgaria) the indigenous people , stealing their land and homes because of the results after the 1st World War!

@@chrysademarko6902 Bro, don't forget where the greeks come from, ftom Ethiopia! if you didn't know now you know!
I knew a greeks in Monreal-Canada , they were from Ethiopia, have never been and lived in Greece. About 155cm to 165cm (170cm,max.) height, a little darker skin, just like the today's southern greeks ! Don't be fooled that you are hellenic, the helenics were tall with light hair and blue eyes, they were part of the many tracian tribes , inhabited that region. The DNA of the "northern greeks " is much closer to the people living in Bulgarian than the people living in Southern Greece!
I realize that this is a hard peel to swallow, but this is the reality and soon or later you will have to face it!

Slovenes, Croats, Serbs, Montenegrins belong the the Southern Slavic group. As for Albanians being a separate entity with confusing origins, (Indigenous of Illyrian decent or migrangs from the East, Caucasian Albania).
As for the other ethnic group, the Hellenes or Greeks we definately know more of them.

Southern italian peninsula and sicily was colonized by greeks for hundreds of years (since 600 bc - Magna graecia) untill the eastern roman empire. even today are greek speaking minorities in southern italy (Griko´s en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Griko_people). So i guess the southern italian part is a link to greek people from ancient or medieval times. You can try 23andme for a really detailed brocken up percentage.

Bobby I did mine 2 years ago and it is way different then what the same test says today. It seems they start kinda general and then as more people have bought kits they narrow it down for you. So I check mine every few months. My first results were so bad I thought I was adopted. I even got another kit from another company and the same thing happend. About 6 months in my oldest daughter and my mother got there's done same thing but it did show we're we're all related. About a year later they all kinda match up now. So check the results again in a few months.

@@TheBobbysPerspective no it just updates as they get more samples from people with your types of genetic make ups. I did ancestry and 23 and me and both were similar. We did my wife's and her population size is so small cause there are less than a million of them left it doesn't no how to categorize them even though they are the oldest group of people on the planet. I had my fun with these tests until I saw the identical twin video. Identical twins shouldn't have completely different results. This shows how inaccurate the tests really are. I took both ancestry and 23andme and wow. They were so different. 23andme showed African. I'm the whitest white person to ever white. Ancestry didn't have anything like that.
In addition, my own test results changed radically within a few years as they got more data. This shows that even they aren't sure what they're doing.
If identical twins can have different results, if two different companies can produce completely different results for the same person, and you get notified 'oopsie!' a few years later, we just can't put any stock in them right now.
Now the medical DNA tests are a different story. For that, they're still learning. They're incomplete, but there are several diseases and disorders with known genetic links right now. So they're very good... to a point.
But still remember that there have been babies misdiagnosed with Downs Syndrome who ended up being fine. These tests can be useful tools, but they have to be used with other diagnostic tools.

South Italia was colonized by Greeks from 600 BC untill 1800 and Greek DNA is dominant in South Italia. Greek -South Italian DNA 32 % means Greek , even if obviously you are not to happy about this. You are 68% percent offspring of the slavic people who came in the Balkans starting the 6th century , and 32% ofspring of the ancient Greeks. So you are 32% REAL MACEDONIAN , good for you.

People need to realise that "countries" are a useless way to show your heritage, if you Dna test would show "Spanish" for example it wouldn't mean anything since the modern nation of Spain is a mixture of Berbers, Celts, Jews, Arabs, Visigoths etc. I'd advice people to just look in the mirror and judge their race/ethnicity upon that instead of some vague test.

Am a bit surprised no Turkish even like 1 percent as didnt the Ottomans influence the Balkans for a few hundred years? Oh and I did think you Macedonian or even being a part German but then realised it was the accent). You do creep into Austria almost.
Think my DNA will be a lot more varied! Like part Celt/Saxon/Viking (although not sure they seperate the Germanic) and our surname has Greek/Latin origins so who knows. Eustakhious/Statius (interestingly read a book on Byzantine history and theres a lot of Eustakhious mentioned. From that you get Eustace and Stacey which is also Norman).
Maybe even something else like French...
P.s Then again might list me as predom Brit but due to stories n Surnames Id be very surprised no viking. (Scandinavian)

    The Hellenic dna prevails there.
So it happens that the Bulgarian Language also prevails in North Macedonia. Do not forget that the Bulgarian or Macedonian tongues were wildly spread in Southern Macedonia and the Greek language was present among the populations of Eastern Rulelia up to the Balkan wars. If a Greek dialect was spoken in Northern Macedonia now instead of a Bulgarian or Slavic dialect who would have disagree with them of beeing Macedonians?
