Beautiful build! Your "water" work is so realistic and a wonderful way to highlight your model. I have the RNLI Shannon Class Lifeboat in the stash and now want to add the Severn Class kit too. Tom S.
Growing up in the South West of England, as I did, there were few coastal towns one could visit that didn't feature a prominent lifeboat station. This diorama is a fine tribute to the men and women of a purely voluntary service that is funded by charitable donations. If you visit the UK and you see an RNLI donation box, do drop in a few quid.
17-19 is the Ernest and Mary Shaw stationed in Campbeltown, Argyll. C'town is also my home town so geeking out a bit here now...and a wee bit homesick ☺
Absolutly beautiful Build an awesome representation of the rough sea. .. No the life boat needs a crew and of course a little weatherin. Even the best maintained vessel do have some "used/worn" looking spots...
@@justinmorgan2126 Absolutely, The RNLI isn't any sort of chore/job/task it's a passion driven purely by volunteers :) Come the revolution when i rule, These people will be elevated to hero status and i shall reward them with 0% income tax and VAT exemption on everything.....least we can do for them. I'd also create a new class of charity that would allow the RNLI, and others that give life saving service, to charge the costs against the insurance of businesses that they save the life of their employees.
Never seen someone like you. I think you earned a beautiful and bleasd gift from god Its amazing how you makes models as they were the real one Go ahead. Perfect job. No words
I can't imagine what a sean diorama of you would be if you integrate a boat like the Cutty Sark, Victory or an old sailed one! Do you have ever the idea to do this, with your skill of representing the element (water, wind, ...) it could be terrific! Indeed like all the time I say to you that's the best way to represent the sea one more time. All the best.
Stunning diorama. A couple of questions. If you're not going to do a commentary you should at least do captions so we can follow your methods. What were you using to highlight the ocean foam around the boat? The brand of paint and glue you use is important because I've heard that mixing them can get a reaction between types/brands. The open bridge isn't manned. Would it be manned in such rough weather? (Figures give scale,) if not, shouldn't there be faces in some of the bridge windows? This is a lovely model and you've given me a bunch of ideas, particularly for a deep-hull heavy ocean tug. Thanks!
great diorama! some notes for improvement, since its set in an environment of 40 - 60 meter swells its very likely raining hard as well, it would be very convincing if the ship was soaking wet, with water leaving the bow as it juts out of the waves, and water draining out of the deck of the ship, with droplets on both the deck, superstructure, and bridge, especially the glass. if it was in the middle of rescue operations the spotlights wouldn't be facing forward but instead would scan in every direction around the ship. it would also be more convincing to see some warm white led lighting inside of the ship to contrast the dark stormy weather.
UK waters can and do get huge swells without any adverse weather at all. Not even joking. That boat could be going out to rescue people on a warm, clear summers day and experience far worse swells than that. :-)
Hi, beautiful boat and great paint job. I have a similar one to print in 3d and make a video for the channel. I will put it on the list of work to do since your video has inspired me to try it. thanks for sharing your art
Why did u paint the windows did u forget u had them on or was it intentional? I understand that you probably have done 100's of models more than I but I always paint before I assemble 1st to eliminate accidents n 2nd for cleaner lines 3rd so I don't need to tape things off. I do however love the absolute art u create with the epoxy.
Can you tell us more about the two part "epoxy putty" you're using? I'm having a hard time finding something similar in the US and wondering what it is used for.
Beautiful work? It's great to watch you do it. How about a how to? Be nice to know what materials are being used. A series of step by step how to videos would be really great.
A lot of people In the comments have been talking about RNLI and donations and lifeboats, what does that mean, do they manufacture boats or like save lives
in those black gloves, you look like the most geekist serial (killer) modeller. What glue do you use? Honestly, a work of beauty. Don't forget to honour your build with a donation to my favourite charity in meantime - or donate it to your local station? It would really be a good visual representation of what these volunteers are prepared to do
So a friend DM'ed me the link and when I saw the thumb nail I had a bit of a double take. 17-19 is the Severn class Campbeltown Lifeboat Ernest and Mary Shaw 😊 It's my wee home toon. Looks amazing btw Out of curiosity, did you pick the numbers specifically for the C'town boat or is it just a fluke? Still looks amazing like. You kinda got me feeling a bit homesick now tbh 😂

I just bought this kit from the RNLI station at Selsey. This is an inspirational build. Very impressive. 👏👏

Totally agree loose that unwanted pocket change… nobody knows when they need their services regardless of wether you at sea or coastal
Yesterday I went to RNLI College in Poole and I saw 4 Severn classes that are identical to this. Great job. 👍🏼
Are you a lifeboat enthusiast? Lemme know.
17-19 is the Ernest and Mary Shaw stationed in Campbeltown, Argyll. C'town is also my home town so geeking out a bit here now...and a wee bit homesick ☺
Sorry bout that. At least you can watch this and feel I little better
Your work on water effects on the sea surface with that tiny brush is excellent.
Wonderful, a nice new model, I can foresee that this will be another showcase model!
Take care, and all the best.

Not RNLI boats mate, they are looked after constantly, you'll never find rust or dirt on them. They are the crews babies and are treated as such :-)

Beautiful masterpiece! @RNLI needs to see this!
Stunning work! Well done! RNLI got to see this! ⚓️
I think I can get it to the Campbeltown station. 17-19 is stationed there. Forwarding it to a friend now 😉
RNLI twitter loved it ☺

Who the hell gave you a thumbs down... that was a great peice of work...
Phenomenal build, music and cinematography.
First track reminds me of Clooney’s “Solaris” soundtrack ... nice choice for watching your build.
That is terrific! The water looks resin and so real. Now you gotta do one plowing into wave with all the spray engulfing bow!
You are probably the best modeller I've ever seen and your dioramas the most realistic

Phantastic work. The water looks so real ... stunning!
Many congratulations for the excellent work!!!
Great job on the model and base
Amazing work! The water came out amazing
Wow this is an awesome build I don’t know how it took but credit to you . I’m sure the RNLI would be proud to display this at many of their museums

Great dynamic Diorama :). And i like dioramas with non-militarian vessels :)
Un magnifique travail plein de pédagogie. Merci pour le partage.

Looks perfect and it is in my favourite scale! So great! ;)
Boat needs weathering and electric lighting. Good diorama and realistic!
beautiful music choice as well
This is absolutely stunning! 💜💜

Yet alone the inclusion of Art of Silence by Uniq makes me give this video a thumb up.
Aside from that, outstanding work!
What an amazing piece of art! Puts all my models to shame lol
It looks amazing!, fantastic Job!, however you are also very brave to tackle a Airfix Kit! The plastics are horrific, or were.
Nice job and well done for been so artistic. And careful in your modelling skills time and patience from belfast northern ireland
A really exciting diorama, well done 😊

Nice build, but no water on deck or superstructure?
Nice build! What orange color did you use please?
Handpan music in the background in the beginning! Is that Kate Stone?
Good tribute to rnli
As a child I remember my Nan raising money for the lifeboat association. It is amazing that it runs purely on charitable donations.
A lot of people In the comments have been talking about RNLI and donations and lifeboats, what does that mean, do they manufacture boats or like save lives
I honestly thought that was a Crab boat, not a life boat. Perhaps I watch way too much Deadliest Catch. Regardless, excellent job on the diorama

May I please know what the tweezers you use are? They look very useful.
would love to have seen some people on her, and maybe lights, but awesome nontheless
Airfix is the best for models
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏
Congratulations on a very good work. however, more equipment and water equipment is expected as a watercraft. :)

What colour orange did you use and from what manufacturer?
I used mr color paint. mix orange 70% and red 30%
what colour of paints did you use and also what type? tamiya or vallejo?
