informative video thank you for your hard work but i have ONE question can i apply to dental nursing because it dose not need GDC registration and from that i can upgrade to dental therapy right?
Hello Dr, Thank you very much for the useful information. I earned my BDS degree from Dubai in 2011 and completed my MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics at the University of Manchester in 2018. From your video, I understand that to apply for the shortest route to becoming a dental therapist, I need to complete a year of dental nursing to obtain GDC registration, followed by an advanced apprenticeship in dental nursing, and then proceed to dental therapy. Is that correct? And how long will this route take?
@@nzmz13 Hi, Thank you for appreciating. Well, the duration of apprenticeship is between 6 months and several years, but you'll be earning as you study. The duration depends on individual factors as some modules can be waved off.
Hi, can I ask you a question? Are you still working in UK after your MSc with Skilled Worker Visa but without GDC full registration? It’s already been 6yrs since 2018 which means you could get your ILR already? I’m concerned because I’m looking for settling in UK without practicing dentistry. Please reply. Thank you so much.

I am interested in the Level 4 Orthodontic Therapy Apprenticeship program. I am an Irish Registered Dental Nurse with the Dental Council, Ireland. I am also Ghanaian Dental Nurse. I wsnt to find out, would my IDC Dental Nurse Registration be considered in place of the GDC registration for this level 4 apprenticeship program.? I am also a 1st Degree Holder in Bachelor Of Arts Political Science and Psychology from the University of Ghana, way back in 2011 and now obtained in 2019 a Diploma in Registered Dental Surgery Assistant (Dental Nursing Program). What are my chances at level 4 apprenticeship in the UK,? Can i write an appeal to GDC to consider my Irish Dental Council Registration since Ireland and UK used to do things the same prior to BREXIT.?? Also, can you share any web base resource where i can get access to Orthodontist that employs under this apprenticeship program for the Level 4 Orthodontic apprenticeship program.?? Hello doctor. I am an Indian dentist who is registered as dental hygienist in gdc. How can u do my apprenticeship in therapy and how much time would take.please explain.
You can easily apply. There are so many opportunities for that. You can start by asking from your practice. Usually it can take upto 3 years, but will be shorter for hygienists. Shortest time is 6months.
