      @brandonr1541 @Validkris @fedup1909 it’s complicated because that wasn’t the question. He will always be seen as black before being a Christian. I am positive there are more Christian whites in Boston who has an issue with him than blacks..simply because of his color. I am not a religious man at all, but I do not like one religion acting their way is the only and right way. There are many instances where Muslim players have been criticized for their beliefs in the NBA. My last point is, he can change his religion but he will always be black. Hopefully we can get to a point where the 1st black of anything doesn’t have to be a conversation because it’s appreciated, accepted.

    • @clintzeke
      @clintzeke 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Validkris no it's not complicated, skin color shouldn't be a factor neither should religion but we live in a country where that's not true. Religion didn't get him where he is, I'm sure he trained, learned, and paid his dues. We are all equal but certain people like to think their religion makes them better. If he was Muslim or Jewish would not be just as good of a coach? Finally, again the question was simple and he could have answered it

    Christianity went to Africa before Europe. Three of the greatest theologians in the history of Christianity were African: Tertullian, Augustine, and Athanasius. Augustine is the arguably the most influential theologian of the Protestant reformation thinkers. Ethiopia is the second oldest Christian nation. Jesus was Jewish and middle eastern. He did not have blond hair and blue eyes. Christ came for all people regardless of color or creed. Christianity is not a "White Man's religion." Lastly, it was Christians like William Wilberforce who lead the abolition of slavery and the international slave trade.
    Joe seemed to be alluding to his Christian faith being more important than his "plight" as a black man coaching in a predominantly black league. He is a black man making more money (4.7 million per year), with a bigger payday to come if they win the chip, than most white people will ever see.
