  • The Ancient City (Muang Boran) in Bangkok is an extraordinary open-air museum that spans over 200 acres, designed in the shape of Thailand. It features 116 structures, including life-size replicas of Thailand’s most famous monuments and architectural attractions1. Some highlights include the former Grand Palace of Ayutthaya, Phimai Sanctuary, and Wat Khao Phra Viharn1. This museum park offers a fascinating journey through Thailand’s rich history and culture.
To get to the Ancient City from Bangkok:
By BTS Skytrain: Take the BTS Sukhumvit Line to Kheha Station (the last stop). From there, you can take a taxi or a local bus to reach the Ancient City in about 10-15 minutes2.
By Taxi or Grab: A direct taxi or Grab ride from central Bangkok will take approximately 40-50 minutes, depending on traffic2.
By Car: If you’re driving, follow Sukhumvit Road or use Highway 3. The Ancient City is located in Samut Prakan, about 30 km southeast of Bangkok
