Yeah those old computers were famous for having screws holding the drives on both sides. When I repaired them back then if I had to replace a drive or remove it I would only add screws to the front side for easier removal later if I needed to.
When I had the 74 i-series computers from the factory, I started taking the boards out of the CD-ROMs, but they were just tiny little 1"x1.5" boards, so I quit taking them apart and sold all 107 lbs of CDs as whole CD-ROM. Knowing they were all identical saved me time!!
I can't wait to watch those detailed videos on electronic I have a pile of sorted electronic partsstuff that needs to be processed as far as what to say on boards or not to save I've got parts anywhere from old VCRs circuit boards in microwaves blenders display screens televisions and computers😊😢
@sharkscrapper I am a bit farther away. But if they get a pallet a week I will make the drive. Can you give me the price you paid? I have three local places. I have years worth to be processed. I micro scrap and recover the gold. I figured with gold prices going up if I overpay today it will be worth it next year. I am always on the lookout for more computers to keep my "retirement busy"
Though I love gold recovery I started scrapping for whatever I could find. Picked up a mini fridge and cabinet mounted microwave plus a bag of DeWalt chargers today. First one I tried worked. That's $85 I love scrapping
The only one that would come close to generating a pallet a week is S&S Recycling in Orange Park. You'll need to Google them for a number, I cleared my contact list after moving. I have no idea what they'd want these for PC's. I was paying anywhere from $0.20 to $0.25/lbs depending on market conditions. None of my other FL clients come close to generating a pallet a week.
Definitely like your videos but everyone here if you guys scrap electronics and musical equipment like pianos that I wouldn't I wouldn't even deal with the piano but organs are kind of worth it but watch the pins man any of the pins you take out of electronics as a razor sharp one just went through my foot😅😢

Of course, I guess I should be thankful there were only two screws on the other side 🤣
Lol yeah, some of those older cases were tricky to open all the covers@@sharkscrapper

A very smart move on your part. The newer CDROMs can be a real waste of time.
It’s so helpful to see the little stuff even if you don’t usually go for it. It helps to know what’s in there.
Happy to help

Hey shark what happens with your EWaste clients now that you've moved up north?
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get anyone to take over my accounts. Sure hope someone comes along for them.

Give me a name and number. I will call and see if they have a dedicated buyer yet.

Awesome!
This hurt me. I wanted that computer to restore..
Send me an email Rod and I’ll let you know when I get another. I’m happy to see PCs restored but when I list them they never get bought.
R.I.P. ...... 200$ of SLOT A motherboard + AMD CPU
I've more if you're interested. Drop me an email
