Thoroughly enjoyed this. I have shared this with my close relatives and a few friends too. I have also shared this on the Question and Answer site, Quora where it will enjoy many more views. Thanks for posting this and kudos to the original artiste whose voice we could hear. He did a great job.
lovely folks ,, i have had some good time with palghat folks ,, wishing all success for the airlines and should soon zoom off ,, will fly along ,, although i am not directly from the belt , i love you all.thanks for sharing
'For example' and 'Amaam' here and there! Very apt. Thanks for sharing this :) P Narayanan(P.Na of Kolkata) has done one more on sounds and their respective meanings of this language. Brilliant job. Keep going!
Both my parents have their origins in Palakkad and I could relate to every word and expression spoken here. The only 2 things I thought are differently said are neeru moru (sambaram in Palakkad) and chapadarthukku for the tiffins (we say thinarthukku). Everything else is bang on! :-) Kudos to the guy. Anyone knows more about him than just the name and city?
Very funny indeed. I am from Palakkad and overall the pronounciation is very close to real thing. Only one doubt - I thought in Palakkad, the beverage offered is called 'Sambaram' not 'neer moru'. At least around Kalpathy, I don't remember people calling it 'Neer Moru'. Still, quite entertaining.
Monsieur Krishna Iyer ! Romba nanna irukku idu! A small correction: it is not neer moru but sambaram. Also, we should never call Madras Chennai merely because DMK wanted it to be so. It is always Madras ! Anyway, I eagerly await the expansion of Palakkad International Airlines to France and other parts of Europe such that more announcements from Bhagyalakshmi can be heard ! Cheers V. Suresh Strasbourg, France
+Viswanathan Suresh Aye, thou art right. Even to this day, most of my relatives from all over the country refer to Madras as Madras. Similarly, it is still Mount Road not Anna Salai.
If that’s the case, then we should go with Madrasapattinam. We are ok to call what britishers named the place with but not what our folks name it? Enna koduma sir idhu.. Not a DMK supporter by the way!! Just facts
@@rajshankarlakshminarayanan4132 Romba thanks Saar for the comment ! My reluctance to endorse this unwarranted and highly inconveniencing name changing spree that seems to have taken hold in India in the 1990s is the fact that these idiotic ideas come from politicians who have nothing better to show for their stints in power. And sadly, even the educated middle classes fall for their sales pitch. Hence, it is easy to blame the British, the Moghuls, the Portuguese and God knows change names and landmarks to honour two timing politicians. Never mind the inconvenience caused, the brand identities lost and the massive costs such antics entail. Anyway, the last time, I was in Madras, the chap driving the auto still preferred using Mount Road rather than you know what.... But then, nnow that the BJP is in power, don't be surprised that India becomes Bharat and its capital becomes Indraprastha ...
Brilliantly hilarious! Thanks for sharing. How about coconut oil for aviation turbine fuel? And instead of Pratt & Whitney engines, Palghat Mani engines .... powered also by sound energy? A close friend asked for "Kapi" to be added to the menu .... an essential to wash down all the solids eaten ... and Thayir saadam as well. Dress code for children - aranaa kayaru (or "Araignan Kayiru"). Thooli for the newborns/ babies. :) :)
Krishnan Iyer Hello Krishnan, my brother sent this Audio to me. Just checked in the YT if its there. Nice Superb rendition and Imagination. How about a typical Chennai "Senthamiz" one or one of a Tirunelveli tamil ?
@@TheSwamynathan That's a fantastic idea. A video on flight announcement in different dialects of Tamil like "Palakkad, Mylapore/Srirangam, Chennai, Kongu, Thirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Yazhpanam, Mattakalappu, Malaysia/Singapore, Bangalore, Hebbar Tamil, etc" will be a great one.
Satire is all about exaggerating things a bit. However, most people who have connections with Palghat found it really really funny. It is hard to find anyone even in Palghat these days who speaks in this fashion.

Perfect Palakkad Iyer language, intonation packed with humour. Enjoyed and asking for more....

'For example' and 'Amaam' here and there! Very apt.

Brilliant job. Keep going!
paru harikumar Yes. I have heard such kind of dialect when I was very young and from people who were very old then.
Brilliant! And so homely, so like the typical Palakkad Iyer language. Want more of this!

Why is the video not playing?
There is no video. It is only an audio recording. But TH-cam doesn't allow us to upload Audio only format.

That would be outrageously exaggerating things. So far, more or less everything can be implemented as per this video.
Brilliant!

overall nice, but didn't have to exaggerate so much!
