I’d rather spend 50 grand on a rebuild like this then paying 50 grand for a 2020 truck 🙌
Only problem is you need cash, much harder to get a loan to build something as the bank has no guarantee of worth for collateral. I know all about this side of the game, truck in my pic is mine when I picked it up from the shop with $18,000 in new paint on it a few months ago.

The only problem is,it’s still an old LB7, the brakes while they were good back in 2003,they are smaller than a modern half tons, the wiring harness and most electronics still have 400,000 miles on them and are 17 yrs old, all the window regulators motors etc, all worn out. While it’s beautiful there’s still a lot do things that will nickel and dime you. As much as I love it too, I’d take a new 2020 7.3 gas super duty f350 XLT over it, same price ,a lot more capabilities room and comfort.

@Kernica1 yes there are, new trucks start in the 30s. Granted that base everything and you would need to order it as no dealership is going to have such a poorly equipped truck on the lot by choice.

I feel $50k is a deal for this fully restored, better than OEM, truck!!!! Well worth the money and a good portion of it is going to a great foundation! Josh, you and the Kodiak truck team, and S&S automotive killed it on this build!!!! 💯🤘🏻🤘🏻

I was wrong. Lol 50k for that truck, I would buy it before any new diesel. Well worth the money because everything is upgraded and built better than what comes out of the factory. Awesome job on the truck! Hopefully one day I can do this to all three of my trucks. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

There are rebuilds and then there are rebuilds...your rebuild is top notch so the truck is worth what went into it, expecially when one considers how much new trucks cost these days.

I just sold my lb7 for a 6.7 power stroke but man i do miss it. Straight 4” piping damn thing sounded like a big rig! But def the small things add up. Me and my friend restored a 93 civis hatchback hell he was 3k in just oem honda bolts!

A new truck off the lot is around 70k that very few have the tools to work on or diagnose all the electrical junk you can work on this truck with most of what we already have in our tool box I'll take this one all day I'm starting to look for something fun to build thanks for the video

I have my son truck that I have put over 10,000 in. His is a 05 Chevy 1500. Before he passed away it was the one thing he just loved. The next thing is more body work to be done.

I'd say that 10k for all that body work and paint is a steal. The PPG paint for my truck was almost 5k.

The price is perfect compared to purchasing a new vehicle. As you pointed out, it's completely rebuilt and you don't have PDF bullshit.

I was guessing like 30/35 ish. I guess it all depends on where you get it all done! And what you have done! These guys were are probably some of the best in the business..so there cost to do is alot higher then some. It definitely came out like brand new. Over all its a beautiful rig but someone would never pay that much unless they had a sentimental meaning for it.

What's the difference between an old truck that's basically brand new, and a new truck? Probably the capabilities and creature comforts. For the average joe who isn't going to be towing 20,000+lbs every day, I think it would make more sense to restore a truck like this. $42,500. That's to make the truck exactly like that, but lets say you don't throw in the majority of those optional things. You might be more around $35,000. I bought my 04 lb7 dually crew cab back in 2019. It now has almost 280,000 miles on. The engine has never been gone through. If I could make that truck like new, and have everything gone through and made 100% reliable with maybe 500 horse power for $50,000, that would be worth it. I would even pay $60,000. Let's stop buying new trucks and make these old diesels great again!

Have watched the first 2 minutes: My guestimate on the costs on the truck would be roughly $50k-$60k. With the right buyer, you are talking a sale of +$75K.
Probably worth around 30k. A guy at my buddies restoration shop spent over 80K on a 66 Chevy 4x4. He tried to sell it a year later for 50K and had no bites.
