Dimash was born in Kazakhstan in 1994. He began studying music at the age of 5, the age at which he was diagnosed with "perfect pitch". His parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan. He studied piano and singing. He later graduated in classical and contemporary music. He has a master's degree in composition and is currently pursuing a doctorate in musicology. You just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He’s from Kazakhstan, sings in 15 different languages, plays multiple musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in music. He was 22 in this performance and will be 28 this month on the 24th. He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 6-8 octave range (depending on who you ask) has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble man. He sings every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "SOS" 2017, "Sinful Passion" 2018, Stranger" 2021, "Diva Dance" at Bastau 2017, "Ave Maria" 2021, "Daybreak" at Bastau 2017. I live in an isolated corner of the Pacific Northwest and have been music obsessed for my entire quite long life. That being said, once I delved deep into Dimash's incredible catalog of music performances, all the most important music of my life (and I mean ALL of it) became less important to me. That's how phenomenal he is.
Dimash brings your emotions to a level you never reached before. People who reacts to him for the first time, usually went out of words. Just because before Dimash, we never heard such a wide-range, precise, clean, seamless, effortless, and textured voice with such a variety of dynamics and types of voices in one blended together so intelligently. You just arrived to his world some days before his 28th birthday, on May 24th, and he will gift us that day with a new song called “Okay” composed by Igor Krutoy, a Russian billionaire, singer, pianist and composer who decided to leave his retirement when he heard Dimash to work with him. Now, they both make an inseparable team (father-son like) and have produced some incredible masterpieces created especially for Dimash’s voice such as Ave María, Stranger, Your love. This is his first public performance in Japanese one of 14 languages in which he can sing. But not one of the four that he speaks.

Subscribed :) 👍Dimash graduated in Classical (Bel Canto)> age 20, and Contemporary (Jazz,Pop)> age 24. Started vocal+piano school at age 5 > teachers noticed he has >absolute pitch<. He was offered a position at Astana Opera in Kazakhstan, but he decided to make a career in neoclassical, cross-over, mixing opera, pop, kazakh folk elements + everything from rap to rock elements. He is ~28 now and keeps doing vocal training 3h/day. /// The song "Ikanaide" is based on a real life story : written metaphorically as a plea for a loved one not to leave, the song actually describes the pain of an actress that had to go into exile. True story : Yoshiko Yamaguchi was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name, became very loved. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a japanese spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. The song metaphorically describes her pain in separating from China and her chinese name.___Original "Ikanaide" was written and sung by Koji Tamaki (1989), and he sings it very breathy, so Dimash, when he did his cover, also used a lot of breath, as a tribute to the original.
This song was also performed in Mandarin Chinese. This latest version corresponds to the 20th Tokyo Jazz Festival and she interprets it magnificently and in perfect Japanese.
