Today we're sleeping in a new capsule hotel located in Tokyo! These pods are much taller than the normal pods I've stayed in. You can actually stand and even raise your arm up completely! Well, if you're a basketball player, standing up will be enough 😄
There are female-only and male-only floors. We stayed on the mixed gender floor, which felt safe and was quiet during my visit. Guests are always changing, so experiences may vary. Watch the video for the full tour!

There’s a family of five above me. Sometimes they run or jump so hard that I feel like the ceiling is gonna break
Because I sleep with my sister she is so loud and makes so much noise when she gets ready for school and I’m over here literally tip toeing.

I would feel more comfortable if the doors were the same rather than if the doors were actually doors because I would start freaking out really really badly.
don`t worry, Miss...most in Japan are safe and having no proper door, for sure they made it more safe for customers.

I think the rooms are locked so you're only with the people that share a room with you. You can go to the girl's only floor and if you put all of your important things in a locker, there's nothing to steal.

I have awful insomnia and a pretty nasty sleep disorder. But that looks so clean and comfortable and friendly for sleep

Very interesting. I feel like, something like this, with lockable pod doors (where management also had a key) would be great as a homeless shelter. On a more basic level, but still with showers and laundry.

I really respect how respectful people are in the Japanese culture. Just the act of quietly shutting the door shows the level of respect. I'm a very quite private person and people in the USA are extreamly hard to live with. Its like everyone is trying to see who can slam their car door or doors in general the loudest. This has just been my personal experience.

I think it's safer in japan than other countries.
i get it can be scary, but you can lock the phone away during the night, and keep the keys under your pillow (which i think would wake you up more than the phone under the pillow, it'd be one more step to stealing)

When she said “ a women showering area.” I thought she said “a woman showering.”
When she said she gets scared if somewhere I shower at somewhere new. Well I only get scared where there’s this stalls but then if somebody’s in there then I feel more safer. I would like to sleep at this hotel or a manga hotel. I like the capsule hotel because there’s like people sleeping with you uwu. Manga hotel because I think there’s no floors and there’s book selves covering you so there’s no ghosts what uwu. And you can read manga
