This song is the SHIT !! I thought I'd never hear this song again ! I heard this back in the late 1970's about 3 or 4 times when I was a teenager ! Finally I'm listening to it again after so many decades !!! Thanks a lot man !!!!!!
This somg is still the stuff! I first heard it in 1977 I was thirteen playing bass guitar . Now I and now I am 59 years old. Been around the world twice.
Beautiful. Listened to and danced to his music in NY clubs back in the seventies, but never knew his name. This is real music with actual musicians weaving complex themes together as one solid groove!
This certainly was a pleasant surprise. Most of what I had heard by Bohannon was in the get-on-up-and-dance/funk groove. His guitar scratchin' is his signature, but it is a perfect complement to this jazzy smooth disco number.
I heard this on overnight shift in the blk radio station in the 70s in my town and loved it. I was a teenager at the time. It knocked me out that the name of this was “Andrea”-my own name! I promptly went to the record store and bought Phase II (the album where this song was offered). Sadly, the album was never digitized as far as I can tell-I’ve looked for it. 😥 The album is really good (check out the track “But what is a dream,” also from the album AND on TH-cam too!).
@@normandemyrick8075 I found out what I would have do is buy a copy of the vinyl album and there are businesses that I can find online that will convert the album into a 💿 CD, then I can rip the CD in iTunes to put the album into my iTunes music library. This is a lot of steps, but unless you know someone with the equipment who is already converting their vinyl collection to 💿 CDs, this is the only option.
Oh my goodness, it's so nice that someone has uploaded this man's music. I was not a big fan of disco but I did like Hamilton Bohannon. He was music was so much more complex and thoughtful to me. Maybe because I was very fond of music without words at that time in my very young life. Thanks for such a great memory.
This is probably my favorite Bohannon cut....from the Phase II album. The bass line is one of my favorite "warm-up" riffs when I'm playing live. This the laid-back version of Bohannon...if there IS such a thing! :-)
I purchased Phase II bec of this (my name, like his wife), my name “Andrea.” However, “But what is a dream” from Phase II is amazing too, and on TH-cam!
Dave Chappell 🤮 isn’t handsome enough to portray Bohannon! 🥺😱 When I was a teenager in the 1970s, I thought Bohannon was F.I.N.E. AF And used to drool over his album covers whenever I was in the record store. Please, no unattractive actors to portray Bohannon! 😱 Dave Chapelle has a face made for radio. Dave Chapelle is F.U.G.L.Y. AF!
Nobody listen to Hamilton Bohannon? I been around the world in the Navy people still listen to his songs.
Robbie Vincent, Radio One, he used this track to close out the show on Saturday afternoons. MONSTER TUNE!!!
I played my 45 today for the first time in more than 40 years ha!!
I love this song. I was 18 when first heard this masterpiece
The funky guitar riffs accent and compliment the steady drumming of Bohannon
Grande disco...BAIA DEGLI ANGELI ❤️❤️❤️

That feeling is what keeps me coming back to the internet... pick up and relive classic tunes!
R.I.P. Mr. Bohannon. Thank you for blessing us with your music. 💜😢
he's with his wife Andrea for whom he wrote this song.

I think Hamilton Bohannon had a college degree in music education, so that might be why his compositions were complex.

I so far love EVERYTHING this man has done. And based on this picture, they need to do movie about this man....with Dave Chappelle playing Bohannon ;)

Mr. Bohannon out did himself on this one, I think !!
As he should done! “Andrea,” is/was his wife’s name!
Nice
unf them keys are immaculate
I swear Talking Heads had to have listened to this stuff.
Yep!
Paradisiaca
Mellow !
SERENE IS THE DESCRIPTION!!
A rifft is what Mr. Steve for slave used to do on the bass guitar. It's called walking on the cords.
I hear the Talking Heads in Bohannon's music
Reverse statement please 🙏!
It was not a funky guitar rift. It was the bass player Hamilton on the piano and the drummer.
