i just got a 24 R4P XSE a few weeks ago. It is a huge upgrade from my 20 year old 4runner (300K miles on her). i've loved how quick and responsive she is while also being extremely fuel efficient. I really like that i can use it on the EV mode running errands around town. If I could get 60-80 EV miles, I think it would be a perfect marriage of PUHV. I'm not sure where people keep saying it's loud - It is definitely quieter than my 4runner. the included sound system is serviceable but it's not a big deal. I literally drove from san diego to la and back and used a little over half a tank (I think a tank is 14 gallons?) woulda been a full tank+ in the 4runner. really glad to make the switch. 4runner will be a cargo/specialty vehicle now.

Thank you Brian! I still remain extremely impressed with the RAV 4 Hybrid SE and XSE! You explained this very thoroughly! The silver color is not my personal preferred choice. But I digress. If I personally were to get a RAV 4 Prime, I would probably opt for the SE Prime. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I always appreciate you and your videos you share with us! Your dealership needs to promote you! I genuinely appreciate you Sir! With full respect always! Mark in Iowa.

I have a 2022 RAV4 Prime SE Weather - overall, I really like it, and would definitely recommend it. I do often wish I had just a little more battery - another 20-30 miles per charge would be great (especially in winter when you get fewer miles per charge) I also wish I had the faster onboard charger (I do have a level 2 charger, but it’s still 6 hours or so to charge from nothing). The only other negative is that it’s a little noisy on the highway (wind noise). The car has great pickup - step on the gas and it goes! It’s comfortable for long trips and my tall family members have no problem riding in the front or back seats. The sound system in my SE (not upgraded) is sufficient but nothing great. But by far the best thing is only having to buy gas once a month or less! I drive about 1100 miles per month and most days only use battery (charge every night). Brian - I remember watching your other RAV4 Prime videos just before I got mine (I had to wait about 6 months for it then) and being so excited - it was worth the wait! Thanks for your videos!

Hey Chris thanks so much for the feedback! You made my day hearing that you watched my other prime video from a couple years ago. Funny it was silver again! Thanks so much for your support and for watching my newer videos! Cheers

The absolute worst thing about the RAV4 Prime is that they only sell them in ZEV states and even there they are in very limited supply. They are usually sold in advance before they even get them on the lots. If you are in a non-ZEV state you will need to go to a ZEV state dealer to buy one. I figure that is because Toyota probably is losing money on each one they sell and are only producing them to meet the ZEV MPG and emission targets for its fleet. So if you can get your hands on one you are getting an incredible value for the price (although I would never pay over MSRP for any car.) I wish they sold them everywhere. This is the car America needs. Great job, Toyota!

These used to be hot, but nowadays I don’t hear much, may be because EVs are now hot. Is that true? Do these last longer on lots? Where is it made?

True they’ve cooled down a bit but they still sell. Japan.

Rave4 runs like turtle 🐢. Too sluggish and also the ugliest car in Toyota lineup.

HL too large to maneuver, make fast turns, and take out Bimmers, Benz, and Lexus driven by old drivers who don't know what F1, Indy, WRC, Touring CC, Lemans, JGTC, MX 5 Cup, and least of all Nascar lol.

Lol $50,000, who buys this when you can get a Model Y for same amount and get $7,500 Federal tax credit off. 40 mile electric range vs. over 300 miles for model Y, and model Y is much much faster and cooler. 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The benefit is when I need to go somewhere and haven’t had the time to charge it, I don’t have to wait.

There is a leasing loophole that allows this RAV4 to get full incentives. I’m in the process rn and in total I’m getting $23,000 in incentives for this 53k car.
Also, 600 mile range beats 300 every day of the week for me. Best of both worlds

I thought that at this point people would be smart enough not to compare an electric car with an IC car

also add in build quality and servicing. Any damages, etc have to be serviced by Tesla and they're not cheap. Also, insurance is higher as well.

The benefit is that you have the best of both worlds. For local driving which is rarely more than 47 miles per day, you can run exclusively in EV mode and never have to pay for gas. But on a long 10- hour road trip you would only need to make one short refueling stop for the entire trip and even then you are getting exceptional gas mileage. In a Model Y the same trip will take 12 hours because you'll have to stop 4 or 5 times to recharge for 20 to 30 minutes on each stop. (I used to own a Model Y, so I know.) Until the pure EVs offer better range and faster recharging, the RAV4 Prime is the way to go for most people.
