This was cringe. Can someone explain to me why AFL fans are so insufferable? They wear their ignorance of other sports as a badge of honour. It’s like they don’t realise no one in the world outside of VIC, WA and SA (Tasmania doesn’t count) even knows what their sport is, let alone cares.
same could be said for league. there are about 3 countries that matter that actually play the game. the other national teams are all made up of people from England nz and aus, nz doesn’t have a domestic comp, most of England doesn’t know league exists, I’ve even met northerners who grew up playing union and know nothing about league, half of australia thinks its the same as rugby, and you barely get 20,000 people to watch a game but call it the greatest game of all and the biggest sport in australia. And then they bang on about tv numbers which when you actually look at the ratings instead of the aggregate average total which is skewed are always less then the competing afl games each Thursday Friday night or finals series game.
