      He was amazing and was ahead of his time. The pull up three's and threes from over 30ft and just taking difficult threes when suuper hot that he did are what a lot of guards are doing now these days. He would be even more awesome playing in today's game.

      Kenneth White Im gonna go out on a limb and say that if the Lakers would have kept Van Exel, Eddie Jones with Kobe and Shaq, man, they would have easily matched Jordans 6 rings. I also think that veteran presence would have kept Shaq and Kobe together as well.

    • @BennyCalloway
      @BennyCalloway 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Ron Elite na.. the thing about Nick as good as he was, he could shoot you in the game OR, shoot you out of the game.. Nick was there when Dell Harris was the coach and was the coach, different offense. When they fired him, they brought in Phil and the triangle.. Eddie, Nick, Shaq, Kobe, heck was JR Rider and Cedric Ceballos still on the team? they had too many guys that could score, some of them had to go! triangle wouldn't have worked with all those guys, especially since they wanted to build the team around Shaq and Kobe.

    I was a lefty shooter in LA, so he was my fav. player. He was quick as hell and was one of the first to stop at the free throw line on a fast break. Now all the Warriors do it. He even threw it down sometimes with that big left mitt he had. He and Chick Hearn had a great relationship too. Memory lane.

    I'm a die-hard Jordan fan, and a Bulls fan since I was 5 (1990). I will admit that for whatever reason, Van Exel scared me more than any Laker. He was just a lethal shooter and will always be underrated. I also admit that I have the highest respect for Kobe as a player and person. It's insane, the skill required to emulate Jordan at such a high level.

    Amazing testament about Kobe Bryant from an awesome former teammate. I was a fan of "Nick the Quick's" game. During an Elite 8 game against UNC back in 1993, he nearly single-handedly destroyed UNC for nearly a half. One of the most amazing offensive displays I watched during a basketball game. Eventually UNC won that game, but all eyes were definitely on Nick that game. Amazing offensive talent!
