Now I’ll have to look through your old videos and see if you go over your custom built bags.

Thinking about it, the only time that I see wilderness is in Vermont where I go to drive the mountain roads. Have a small mechanical repair kit in the trunk, along with a hammer, duct tape, and a bigger knife than I carry in my pocket on such trips. Weight is a concern, automotively, so the thought of having something like a full tool bag or, say, a big Tekton socket set in the trunk is out of the question. IMO, this kit can be a good idea depending on one's environment.

I've thought long and hard about the difference between geography and bag contents. I've concluded that 90% is the same across about everywhere. And the 10% is in clothing and fishing.

Good presentation! I used to look down my nose at these premade "bugout bags" but I will concede they have a purpose. The Uncharted bags seem way overpriced for the subpar level of gear they pack but at least the design is good in the sense of being well organized with reasonably chosen items. Nearly everything is of poorer quality than my regular EDC and woods gear but they're better than nothing. My biggest concern is that the kind of person that's too lazy/can't be bothered to assemble their own pack is probably the kind of person that also won't practice and learn how to use the stuff.
I don't have a "bugout bag" per se but a very hardcore survival kit geared for woods use that would work in many situations. I started with a Mystery Ranch fire pack though so it was $300 before I added the first space blanket or box of matches.😂 It's old enough that it was actually made right here in Bozeman, too. 🇺🇸

Mystery Ranch makes some good stuff. I have a couple of their packs and duffles. However I did have one of their holsters and it was recalled. I liked it but the updated design (moved from velcro to plastic buckle) ruined the reason I liked it. Just got my money back.
Lazy can take many forms. I have assisted some trauma docs and ER physicians with building "survival" kits. Perhaps the market for the pre-made bug out bags are not us.

@@lastbesttool I have a 90 L duffel and a few of their packs, but I'm also a fan of Hill People Gear. For holsters I prefer to stick with holster makers and those that dabble in them tend o have mixed results.

@@robbabcock_ My 90L duffel is an Osprey, oddly a distant relative of MR with a Dana Designs detour. Lots of inbreeding with high end packs. I had a Hill People Gear chest pack for a while, but most time would have my bino baby pack. I visited the Hill People Gear store in Grand Junction (I thing) and they had some other pretty innovative gear. Lately I prefer active retention Safariland holsters, and Galco leather chest and hip rigs for the Alaskan.

Actually its a stainless Ruger 10/22 takedown with Tandemkross upgrades in Magpul Backpacker stock with Aimpoint H1 on the Magpul picatinny accessory rail, and a Gemtech can on the business end. But if I mentioned that, the mothership would strike me.
