I'm glad you realized just how positive an impact you are having on the people who appreciate you and what you are doing in the music world. I think a lot of creatives who are not plugged into a community that gets a lot of media (social or other) coverage can feel like their work doesn't mean much. I go through that when it comes to my photography, if not my life in general. But that's the danger of measuring our impact by popular culture instead of by the individual interactions we are blessed to have on a regular basis. As someone who has followed you since you were preparing to audition for Julliard I can clearly see the value of your contribution to the world over the years.
Thank you TVK, enjoyed the Congress! You aren’t a failure TVK, it’s just your at one of the major transitional points in life. Glad to hear you have rallied and are feeling better about it
Mayjflute is awesome! I went to the Mid-South Flute Society convention back in March, I met so many flutists including the guest artist Valerie Coleman ( composer, original flutist of the Imani Winds and New professor at the University of Miami), I got to try flutes and piccolos, and got to go to some cool workshops. That’s awesome that you got invited to this!
5:38 me talking to Drew. Hey, I am famous, I appear on a video of TVK :P Nice video Drew hope to see you again soon. Best wishes and thank you for being so nice!
All string artists are “weird”. As a violinist I can relate and yes, Holland is one fun country. Everyone just gets along so well and the food is good.
Hey tvk! I have a question. So I'm trying to become a professional classical musician and the college I'm trying to get into to help me pursue that goal calls for very vigorous and intense practice but I struggle with depression and its extremely hard for me to practice the way I should, or even at all, when I'm dealing with a bout of depression and I was wondering if you have any suggestions to help me get through those practice sessions right.
Where should you go next? Obvious! You should plan to attend the next International Viola Congress in Poland! You are a great ambassador for the viola (which as we all know is better than just a violin).
Lawrence Power played several solo parts that night, I think the fragment in this video is from William Alwyn's Pastoral fantasia for viola and strings. Full program: ivcrotterdam2018.nl/evening-concerts/
I want to go to Julliard really bad and im going into the 6th grade now. I’m learning guitar but I have a few questions. I know if I want to go specifically for guitar that I have to be reallllllly good, so what if I want to go for music theory. Do I still have to be reallllllllly good to get accepted? Am I going to even play my instrument there?
I really loved this. I am a hearing impaired violinist transitioning to viola. I quit recently but coming back because of issues, depression among them. I've been meaning to play viola for a long time cause the velvet tone is very pleasant for me and doesn't cause my hearing aids to screech! I appreciate you sharing thoughts of being a failure at the end. Playing can feel like a deadend hobby often especially after I quit music.. Happy for you to have reached your goals and went there though! Can at least feel what its like vicariously. haha so nice to see a current look at a violists life cause theres barely any out there! But that hindemith play was just pretty out there and unnecessary. Lol Im not sure about europeans and them having to act out unspoken music but seems to be a trend but thats modern for you..
@@lukeanatol5512 I'm very unsuccessful most of the time! But I really do care about each and every one of you! Just trying to get my life in order again haha

@@ThatViolaKid Thank you so much. Is there a way for us to keep in contact? You inspired me to switch up my channel (just a little bit) to add blogs to update people on my computer and other stuff. Maybe even a little violin/singing action.

As a Percussionist this is so wholesome cause players at drumming conventions seem a bit show off'y and hostile while this is nice and inviting! 😂

Go to Portugal(Lisbon and Sintra). Beautiful and cheap.
I would be interested in knowing the name of the concerto the guy was playing with the orchestra. I don't know it. Thanks

All I thought about while watching this video is how I’m gonna get rejected from Juilliard’s precollege division on Wednesday haaaaa
I had to pause and rewind like 4 times to catch the “badass name”, also yeah let’s be a separate country
oh next time your doing something like this try a clip on mic for yourself to not pick as much background noise. However great video!
Why am I here...I play clarinet😂😂😂
