When Moving Pigs Goes Terribly Wrong

- I didn't expect to be making this kind of video.... As you can tell from the beginning of the video it was supposed to be a wonderful time moving our pigs to the most beautiful part of our property. Little did I know that our day would be turned upside down by frustration, and injury.
Thank goodness you were wearing those overalls! Hopefully you will recover soon.

Thank God you're ok! Sore, bruised and cut but could've been so much worse. Thank you for being real and showing the real life not just the highlight reel of life on the homestead. Hopefully no more injuries for quite a while!

Glad you're okay. Those tusks are definitely something to be careful of. Seen some nasty wounds from them. Thanks for sharing as many don't know pigs get the tusks.

It's usually those tuff lessons in life but makes us so better with the things that we become passionate about! Glad that you were not hurt any worse. Hoping that you all are able to find a livestock trailer maybe making moving animals around the property a bit easier.. take care until the next video.

Praise the Lord you are ok!!! Thank you for sharing that a big part of farming is knowing the natural behavior of your animals and not blaming them when nature takes over. There are a lot of dangers with farming whether it be animals or equipment and many youtube channels don't share that. So glad you didn't need to go to the ER. Definitely think you should contact the overall company. What advertisement.

Holy Shit Zac!! Yes you better believe it, it could of been a lot worse, what was you thinking!! Young people have this preconceived idea that they can control ALL situations it's part of being young and learning and growing up!! No matter how sweet and nice we talk to animals we cannot stand in the way of certain behaviors! I will say a lot of farmers have those pig tusks cut off and it's a smart idea so please think of that?? Ashlyn being female I can tell you that tusk rip would of went to the bone on her, so please for both of your safety and the safety of other pigs cut the tusk off! A game rooster with spurs can literally hit so hard they can send those spurs easily through 1/2" plywood, I have seen it!!!! Take care 😊
It wasnt so much that im young, more so that I was tired and frustrated, couldnt process what mistake I was making because of that fog. Im not a fan of cutting tusks or horns off. This situation could have easily been avoided if was paying better attention with a level head.

Wow Zack that's a serious wound!. So glad he didn't hit a major artery! I know another TH-cam homesteader guy that almost bled out when one of his pigs hit a major artery in his leg . It became a medical emergency.Really glad you're ok. Now I'm not sure about getting male pigs.
Wow, I’m glad I had my overalls on! It wasn’t a problem of him being a male pig, but that there was two of them. I’m totally to blame for that cut. I knew better and still made that mistake.

Off to the ice shower I go! Not! The doctor says ice it, and I hit the hot tub. I have never liked the cold treatment. That being said, you don't know until you try it. It's hard just to sit around and wait for the healing to happen, but it is time well spent. Just keep flapping. That's why most us are here. Happy New Year. I am patiently wait for the net sermon. I

No never get between 2 blokes fighting over a bird just sit back and watch the carnage, then pick up the pieces and tell them there a couple of prize berks buy them a drink and watch them realise She just isn’t worth it. Something we humans can do but rarely do, unfortunately the piggies can’t.
Why do you have more than one boar? When we raised hogs, we just had one at a time. And we raised a lot of hogs!
because it allows us to create breeding pairs, trios etc.
We mostly raise pigs for breeding stock rather then feeder pigs. If we did just feeders we would only have one boar for our girls.
