Looks extremely unnecessary to me. Jed was the footwork to easily cover that edge. There is no reason to get cute and run a little stunt with your O-lineman there. I hope we dont see that again.
Yeah someone on Reddit commented that Baker should have audibled out of it when he saw that there were two DT’s in A-gap. Cuts down on the selling of the fake a little bit but allows your play design to work. This play put Jed in a position to fail. He almost certainly had to hold Covington here or else he’d get Baker creamed. So, do you think it’s on Baker for not changing the play at the line?
