- Plantains are very versatile and they taste different at every stage of ripeness. I grew up eating a lot of plantains. What a blessing that was to have trees in our backyard but sadly I didn't realize it at the time. I miss that.

Half ripe plantains
Pinch of salt
Enough water to cover the plantains
Boil 5-7 minutes

Thnx for sharing this video 🙏. I'm watching from Honduras 🇭🇳 ❤🇧🇿. It's interesting that you guys in Belize peel the plantain before boiling it. In Honduras, people usually just cut the plantain in thirds and boil them with the skin. We peel them until we're about to serve them on the plate.
Oh wow, I didn't even know that's possible to boil plantain in the skin. I'm definitely trying that next time. Thanks for watching from Honduras ❤️

In the Philippines we boil them with the peel. Although the bananas we use, called Saba, have much thicker peel than plantains.

Hi Esmi! That's a good idea, I have never tried to boil my plantains with the skin on before. I have never heard of plantain patties so I had to go look them up. I saw a lot of different recipes. In my mind I thought you were asking about tostones but they are different things 😃. Let me know which one you want to know about?
