    Hey it looks great , it sounds just like one of those soothing water fountains they sell to relax you , you could just put the pipe coming down over a bucket with maybe some rocks in it add some lights a little aroma therapy and sell these things online. as relaxation units

    Like a lot of people here I would love a bit more information on how this works. This is really incredible and would like to make something like this myself. Thanks for any help you can give me/us.

    where did you get the jug , and the nozzles? It looks like you put three nozzles in the bottom and turned them all to discharge in the same direction creating the spin, but are they just plain ninety's? did you silicone them in? this would look really cool with some changing lights, also adding a magnetic tube at the bottom would help to energize the water and then it would be superior drinking water after about 30 minutes of this, according to viktor schaubergers stuff.

    First off you dont need a very big water pump any size from a hardware store will do.I think mine is 185Gal an hour. Its the hole size that determines the flow. Start at like a 1/4 in hole and work up till you match the inflow with the outflow and make sure its level.I messed up on the level part and needed a smaller hole then i thought so make sure its leveled good. I think im running 3 3/16in lines from the manifold to the tank.im not really good at helping people so if any more Q's please ask

      I never really thought about filming the making of this but I'm going to be making another one hopefully this month for a friend and I will film it and every thing needed and post the video up. I suck horribly at talking about what I'm doing and editing videos but I will do what I can to help.

      thank you i do have one how did you make the hole in the bottom of the tank what size drill bit did you use???? thanks again I'm really excited to make this my son loves severe weather. he is heading to OU next for year meteorology . This will be the ultimate bday gift...

    • @hobanm45
      @hobanm45  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +jennifer kortright I just used a drill to make the hole. The bit size I think was 5/8ths, but the size will need to vary depending on the water pump you have. OU is a good place to go for severe weather I live just north of there in OKC

    The jug is a "360 viewing fishtank" that I got from petsmart. The nozzels are just nylon 90 degree that I got from ace hardware. The 90s do have silcone on them and they are pointed in the direction of flow. If you have any more questions just ask and sorry for the late reply I will try and do better if there is a next time

    Whats the CFM rating of the water pump?

    • @hobanm45
      @hobanm45  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bryan Evans I don't remember the exact size of the pump but I think it's somewhere in the 100-140 gpm range. you can use whatever pump you want just as long as you match the pump to the bottom hole size.

      I will try and do a better job filming my next one. but in the meantime I will try and draw some plans on how it works and upload it. I'm away from home for work so I can't show the real vortex yet.
