If I would be the owner of the company reMarkable, I would have saved all my money to pay creators like you. Because this is the masterpiece of advertisements of all. This sells!
I have watched so many reviews of tech you tubers, saying it doesnt do enough. as a person who loves to write and has accumulated too many notebooks i want to be able to have all of it with me on the go. i never get around to transferring my scribbles to another device. i love how your video romanticizes the remarkable for the fellow writers.
Thanks! For me, I’d like it to not do enough, makes us write more. It’s a niche product but I think it’s our product. The device is perfect enough for our use case.
I agree, mostly... But I would like to be able to automatically sync my Remarkable 2 notes on Google Drive, so I can access them easily. I've watched a few reviews, and am still unsure if this is possible... Seems like, on older software, it was a NO - aside from the email function...It seems like you can do it now, though not 100% sure, since I don't see this function covered much in reviews. Either way, I just ordered one (Remarkable has an excellent satisfaction money-back guarantee). So going to give it a shot. Wish me luck.
One of the best reviews of the RM2. Period. Remarkable should post such “real” stories in their “user stories” marketing campaigns, instead of using some content creator who will create content on any product if they are paid to do so… All the best for your book that you will write using your RM2!
@@Lucas_Alpay I got mine today and here are my first impressions: - Very good built quality overall - the keyboard, key travel, the three different movements, and the inner lining. - But I hate the quality of the outer “fake leather” used. I chose the brown color as I wanted some contrast to the black RM2. The fake leather is very rough to touch, and the sharp borders only make it even more unpleasant to touch and handle. I hope it softens a little bit, in the following weeks. - Weight: yes it adds considerable weight to the RM2. The moment I took the Folio out of its package, I could feel the heft. So it’s definitely not going to be my primary case to carry, while I travel, except if I am sure that I will need to do some typing on it. For travel, I will prefer the RM classic Book folio I have had for two years. - Software: I knew that it has limited formatting capabilities and cannot replace a word processor. But I see it as a modern typewriter. And having seen the great work RM has done the last 2 years (since I purchased my RM2) on the software update cycles, I am positive that they will introduce many formatting capabilities for the Type folio, in the following months. At the moment, I am 50-50, as far as keeping it or returning it eventually. Will test it extensively in the following weeks.
I love this video. It's relaxing and discusses use-cases more than spec sheets (no shade at other reviewers, I just like the switch up). This video perfectly encapsulates why I want this device, too. Hope to get one soon! Subbed 😊
Mate, honesly one of the best reviews I have seen of the reMarkable. So many TH-camrs are just putting out half-baked crap, but this my friend, this is incredible. The amount of effort that you put into this video is in itself "reMarkable". Top notch quality. I truly appreciate the more slow approach instead of throwing hundereds of quick edits into your face at once. It's also nice to finally see someone rate the reMarkable II tablet for what it is, instead of comparing it to an iPad or something outrageous. Also, minute 1:20 you need to teach me how to write like that. Please drop a tutorial. Your handwriting itself is a work of art. Cheers mate!
Thanks! I honestly think this is an “unhurried” device (for my use case) and should have a review that’s equally unhurried. For the handwriting, I’d recommend writing a short story with pen and paper, take slow on doing it too. I usually do it from time to time. Also, I envy the older generation handwriting, and I try to preserve the art of it. Thanks for the comment again, I do appreciate it!
Absolutely, you did a great job at making sure nothing was rushed. The calming feeling of video is one that I feel like the reMarkable fully embodies. It's not about this new, over the top tech, but rather this old technology that we can utilize to work alongside us without pulling us away from our task at hand. As for the handwriting, I'll take your advice. I hope to see results as good as yours. Hopefully my handwriting will improve. It is one of my biggest goals right now. Hopefully I puchase the reMarkable in the next month and if so, I hope to share a small note on my experience
how comes now one has mentioned his beautiful hand writing, it looks like a poem in a fable, with such a handwriting i wouldnt even use the converting function but everything else is ofcourse also very well made😇 Such a pity that this video has not much more views and likes
Thank you sir. This was such a unique and incredible presentation. The first of it's kind, or at least the first I have seen. I was able to better focus on the detailed description of this device as the relaxing music played in the background, and the narrator's voice completed the ambiance that really delivered! I have always loved e-readers and writing tablets (I currently own a Kindle Scribe), and this video has certainly peaked my interest in the reMarkable 2. Thank you again!
Hey Lucas man, this was really cool to watch! I've reviewed the reMarkable and the type folio so this randomly showed up on my feed. Very glad it did, I actually did a livestream 2 days ago on Kitt Betts-Masters YT channel and i talked about the modern nostalgia it evokes, from a videography perspective I think you really captured it quite well here! Instant sub, great work dude 👏
Gotta love the creativity of this video. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the RM2 with type folio. It is my daily go-to device for thinking, writing, and notes. I concur that it is the perfect distraction free ‘story-tellers’ dream. The type-folio accessory has replaced all of my previous distraction free devices like the FreeWrite and AlphaSmart.
Just like paper! No spell checks or ability to count words. So if you want the most authentic experience in a digital form, I think Remarkable nailed it!
I loved my Remarkable2 until I started to experience some pixel problems on it.I contacted their team, send pictures and videos, yup warranty covers that so we are good to go with replacement. What you don’t know is that if problems occur with your brand new remarkable 2 they gonna replace it with refurbished one not with brand new.Don’t belive me..go check their warranty policy or contact them with question.
Beautifully done video here. It was so lovely to watch. Thank you for your honest thoughts on this device. I have been wanting to try it, but the price tag keeps getting in the way. I also like your honest thoughts about it from a writer's perspective. I wonder if spellcheck and word count will be features they add in the future to cater more to creatives.
I really do hope they add at least the word count. If they add the spellcheck, I’m afraid they’re going to add some monthly payment for it (I hope not). Hey, thanks for watching!
I came here for a review and ended up watching a documentary about this device. 10 for the novelty of how this video is shot but in terms of usefulness I am afraid it is a 4 out of 10. I own all the eink tablets on the market and I really got no info from this video to be honest, that could not be read on the main page of the device maker. It is a commercial more than anything, so again, awesome production value here but in terms of usefulness and info, this is only catering to people that never seen a eink device.
Hey hey, still, thanks for sharing your thoughts. I know that the remarkable is an old device, people more capable than me have made reviews of the device and they showed every minutiae of its capability because this thing, like I said, has been around for a while. And you’re right, it’s an introduction to an e-ink tablet that has the capacity to accept a pen input for people that never seen nor experienced one. 👍
Well, it means I don’t need to re-type (to the computer) what I’ve already written using the tablet. Sometimes when I write with pen and paper, which is great from time to time, it’s a hassle to re-type everything to a word processor.
I have a similar device thats a lot cheaper and doesn't have a spellchecker and only costs around six to seven pounds; it called a Notebook and pencil. I'm tempted but not sold on it at seven hundred and fifty with a keyboard. I'll just use my chromebook at half the price. Nice video though; Thank's.!
So all these devices need Android so you can have Kindle and Word. Its a shame really, especially for the price, though it is an attractive design... matching the screen whiteness with the bezel is a great touch
I use the remarkable for focused work, but there’s the Boox Ultra if you want to check it out (maybe you already know about it). It has Android and can basically use kindle and word. And it’s the same price as remarkable really.
I have a daily driver with this one actually, eink but connects to whatever bluetooth mech I want. That’s one of the down sides of the remarkable for me, no Bluetooth (and no typeface options).
The only thing I don't like about this device is the lack of micro SD expandable storage or USB OTG just like all e-ink devices seriously companies needs to stop relying on cloud storage.
Nope, written it by myself. It’s just the voice that’s AI. Beginner TH-camr here, my self esteem is not there yet, lived in the states for 10 years, but that doesn’t mean my fluency in English is at par to a native speaker. So, yeah, AI voice for now, for some of the videos. Some.
Hello, nice video! Fortunately the app integration allows us to easily copy paste to chat gpt for spelling mistakes etc.
Correct, which I actually forget to mention in the video. But thanks for mentioning this.
If I would be the owner of the company reMarkable, I would have saved all my money to pay creators like you. Because this is the masterpiece of advertisements of all. This sells!
I’ll take the extra income 😆. Thank you so much!
@@Lucas_Alpay Keep it up man!
Yes, really a well-made extended commercial indeed! Perfect choice of music, voice-over and generally good art direction.

That is the point! Those tech reviewers aren't the target audience.
