How i would like to describe this theme in a way if you'll fight against Chang'e is that, she's happy and carefree, a beautiful danmaku battle. Yoko's version sounds eccentric, serious, and it fits too in Chang'e ^^. But i prefer this happy sort of theme ^^.
For me, this is a mix of sorrow and insanity. We still don't know Chang'e personally but this music shows her loneliness from her imprisonment and the music's sudden change in tone, from fast to slow to melodic to playful, feels like she is in guilt or/and has completely lost herself. Additionally, this truly feels like a "Phantasm" while the other feels like an EXTRA boss or mid-EX boss
The similarities between this and Junko's theme kinda reminds me of the duo Necrofantasies, in a way. The difference is that, while one signifies a close relationship, the other is the representation of two eternal polar opposites, destined never to accept the other dwelling under the same heaven. They had been enemies for such a long time, it's not much of a wonder that they would share similar parts from each other.
There's a saying that after hating someone for so long you end up respecting them or something along those lines. These two have been enemies for so long they now share a theme
Chang’e has returned to claim dominion over the Lunarins once again, without Junko in her way to stop her. However, her impurities are painfully obvious to the heroes, who wish to not involve their Lunarin friends in this fight. Can they stop her from reconquering when she failed them before?
Imagine this: You get done with stage 6, your chosen player character trying to stop the confrontation between Junko and Chang’e from tearing Gensokyo apart. The two are waiting as the screen finishes scrolling. The dialogue wraps up… And suddenly, the bullet screen rotates on its side. Junko and Chang’e take their places on each side, and start fighting EACH OTHER! The player, merely caught in the middle, must now choose whether to intervene on the side on the side of Junko, intervene on the side of Chang’e, or simply let the duel take its course. The ending changes depending on not only which the player chooses to defeat, but also whether or not the player scored the finishing blow. (There’s also a secret fifth ending if both are defeated with the same bomb.)
Love how it's based on pure furies; it can serve as a phantasm boss theme. I think "impure guilt" is a better choice though. Emphasise it as the opposite to "pure furies"
I didn’t really like this all that much at first cause I was like “this follows pure furies way too closely” but then it sort of clicked with me how much sense that makes from an in-universe perspective. Junko has dedicated her entire existence to hating this one person; of course she’d have elements of her theme be shared. Good stuff.

This was the first Fanmade Touhou song I heard when I first learned about touhou, and I cannot tell you how much I fell inlove with it. I know it's somewhat of an arrange of Pure Furies but still this is pure gold.

Jeez this was so good I love it. The attention to detail here is just amazing and it sounds nice. The light blue line at the beginning, middle, and end using what is basically Junko's theme's intro flipped was a nice touch. The pink line borrowing elements from Junko's theme but putting a slightly sadder and/or more calm spin using flatter note patterns instead of continuing the ascending scales was also really cool. This last one might be a bit of a stretch but does the purple line at times use the Theme of Eastern Story motif with slightly longer notes? Because that's what it sounded and looked like to me when I heard it and compared the structure. Anyways keep up the good work (if you feel like it) because this is some straight fire.

i have a theory regarding this theme: chang'e's theme is the original: since junko purified herself to be the embodiment of her hatred against chang'e, her theme is actually a derivative of chang'e's. Due to her hatred of chang'e the only thing junko can feel, it would only make sense that her character-defining theme is based purely on chang'e's.
Despite this being the second version of the original song, it continues to demonstrate a sign of "greatness". What do I mean by that? Well, the song reminds me that Chang'e was in some ways an important person to the Lunarians, this fan-theme dismantles every part of her "being". I imagine Chang'e as a calm, caring and grandiose person but at the same time someone who is arrogant, compassionless and possibly vulgar.
I wish there was a sequel to touhou 15, where you could play as junko or idk some shit, and then defeat this chang'e, like it was an alternate timeline
