These clips of the Lower Swansea Valley in 1963 show rare colour footage of the area during the landmark reclamation project which sought to restore Europe's worst post-industrial derelict landscape.
The Lower Swansea Valley Project started in 1961 and oversaw the transformation of the valley after the heavy industry of the area went into decline after the Second World War.
These clips were made by Franklin Cardy, Geologist for the Lower Swansea Valley Project, and kindly contributed to the ESRC-funded Global and Local Worlds of Welsh Copper Project in 2011 during LSVP's 50th anniversary celebrations.
All these clips are copyright Franklin Cardy 2011.
