this was a free concert to raise founds after the earthquake of 2017 in México; this was a very emotional moment because most of people there had lost everything and they were still singing proudly, today is the independence of México and that’s why i uploaded this video, VIVA MÉXICO! 🇲🇽 fun fact: the sierra morena is not in México and i think the autor of the song was from España xD
Every time I hear this I bawl my eyes out... even now. My Tata sang this, hummed it, and whistled it constantly. I miss him so much. It's like he's telling me not to cry for him and to sing his favorite song
This song popped into my head this morning. I don’t know the reason but it has me researching the lyrics and what they mean. Thank you for the translation.
I have nothing but the deepest admiration and respect for the Mexican culture and peoples. I spent a few years in Houston TX and spent most of my time with and around Mexicans, it was an all Mexican neighborhood and we were the only white people around, and I've never met a more caring, loving, respectful and accepting people in all my travels. Sure, there were a few bad apples but you get that anywhere with any group of people. I remember the neighborhood abuela, she insisted everyone call her that no matter what age, color or background you were. She was everyone's abuela and would do just about anything for anyone and the food!!!! Omg never have I had such wonderful amazing and love filled homemade home cooked food in my whole life! I miss it terribly.

Those facts are actually disputed and the author was Mexican... sort of, it was the 1800s so not really much Mexicans
Hailing from Texas and being Mexican….we have the most beautiful culture and beautiful people we love all…the deepest love we carry and give.
