This latest video looks at the Sennheiser EW G4 IEM system and the basic settings to get it going. Plus, the video takes a deep dive and looks at connection methods for any IEMs to your sound system. Whether it's monitors from FOH or a dedicated monitor rig. This video is sponsored by Sweetwater so I was able to look at a lot of tentacles that surround IEMs and the various systems users might be using/working with.

Thanks for your video, I was so happy to get a very good feedback from my pastor about the sound quality thanks again

I use 2 of these to get 4 mixes.
I’ve always used mono so I don’t have an issue with it. Reverb is your friend in mono to really hear that separation.

Another great video. We use a couple of these Sennheiser G4 units and they seem to be really reliable. Thanks!

This would have been handy 6 months ago :-) Scanning is a necessity these days. I set the available frequencies in the transmitters, then sync the packs. Helps me from forgetting something.

We are in our 3rd year of these IEM's. No issues whatsoever. We run 3 units in mono for 6 sets of ears. We use the DL32 outs from a Midas M32C.

at 6:59 we see the IEM-rack on the right side doing its work. What is the name of the rack case? Would be very much interested!
Also, I'm a complete newbie and would be very much interested in how such a rack is built in general :) would be a great tutorial!

IIRC that is a rack with 4 of the Sennheiser G3 IEM units and an antenna combiner (I mention an antenna combiner towards the end of this video as something you want to look into when you're using more than 1 (or 2) IEM systems. Certainly, advantageous when you get up to 4 IEMs in a rack.
I did this video talking about the parts and pieces to make an IEM rack based on the Behringer XR18 a couple of years ago.
      th-cam.com/video/xT9gTBFxvZk/w-d-xo.html
One of the things I mentioned in this XR18 video was some people want to build it all into one rack... and some like to keep the IEMs themselves separate. So I talk a bit about how to do that. Which the sep IEM rack is what (I think) you're talking about seeing in the scene at 6:59 of this current video.
I'm actually working on a video building an IEM rack based around a console larger than the 16 channel XR18. But I don't know exactly when that video will be ready.
I also might have an update video pretty soon on the XR18 IEM video since there's another option for the splitter that wasn't readily available when I made that original video.

Thank you for the video! This is a great video for me to show my band mates. Very easy and the explinations are really simple and great, thanks. What video contains the festival stage inputs ect?
Video idea.. sending backing tracks/ click from your daw through the x air 18 and running the tracks to foh and click and tracks to the band along with midi info from your daw for patch changes of a modeler 😀

Why is it important to have all the belt packs in the same bank? Would it not be better to separate them? Thanks

    • @AlanHamiltonAudio
      @AlanHamiltonAudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

No, it's just the opposite. Banks contain channels that will 'play nice' with each other in the venue/area you are in. If you put the units all in different banks, you're defeating the entire point of the banks/groups and risk choosing channels that will be interference risks.
Choosing available channels from the same bank/group means you're choosing channels that are known to be compatible. You throw that away when you start using multiple banks/groups.
