*Puzzle* has been a favorite among the fans for a long time, but the video version of it was only available as a bonus for the first press of the *Just Bring It* album about six years ago. There were bootleg versions, or you could sign up for "Band-Maid Prime" and stream it, but the DVD is hundreds of dollars on the resale market. This morning's release is going to make a lot of people very happy, because this is a great song and it hasn't been available. You are lucky this is your introduction to the band. Although, any of their songs are a good introduction. Lyrics: She's met a guy and found the missing puzzle piece of her life, but he doesn't want his wife to know. This seems to upset her. There is another version they did a year or two later as an acoustic song with only the lead guitar Kanami and the singer Saiki. It is amazing how the song changed. It is the same melody, the same chords, and the same lyrics, but instead of being an outraged shout of anger it becomes a heartbroken lament of pain. That one's also hard to find, so give their more accessible videos a listen and someone might be able to pass a version to you later.
One of Band-Maid's best, and that's saying something! Over 120 great songs of greatness, right up there with "Moratorium" and "Take Me Higher"! Just no bad songs from these amazing ladies!
This song was my introduction to this band, as well. Pretty good, huh? The other two songs I listened to after 'Puzzle' were 'Play' and 'Moratorium'. 'Moratorium' can still be found elsewhere, but a newer version of 'Play' is available on their channel. Do yourself a favor, listen to more BAND-MAID.
Welcome aboard, M-dad & M-son. You are embarking on (along with many others - over 171 million YT views plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (125 songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
