We call them 4-wheelers here in the states... But, I was called a bad father once because I refused to buy or even allow my sons to ride on one of them things. "Stop coddling your children!" They said.... "You can't protect them for the rest of their lives!" The one who called me a bad parent, wound up spending quite a few days in the Intensive Care Unit with their 8 year old son (my kid's friend at the time) who flipped his 4-wheeler in a ditch and broke his collar bone and did some internal damage. Needless to say, I never spoke to those people again, but I'm glad I had a very good example to tell my kids for them to not have one.
Then when one of my sons turned 16, he begged and pleaded for a motorcycle... Again, I refused... Less than a year later, a friend of his was killed on one. He's now 25 years old and still doesn't own one....
NOPE!! I may NOT be able to protect my kids for the rest of their lives, but I can damn sure prevent as much danger to them as possible as they're growing up.

I had already read this post, but I watched the video all the way through anyway because hearing you read it in your voice makes it that much more exciting. I hope you post more story videos!

I'm so glad you both ended up being ok. Despite, such an awful and dangerous experience. I'd say, "Never, ever do that again", but I think you know better not to. 😉 You Holland men need to listen to Nikki, and I guarantee it'll save you a lot of unnecessary trouble! 😉 Luv ya, and take good care. 💜

My husband also has a scar on his left wrist from a quad accident when he was 16! He rode into some gravel and the quad flipped over on him. I have yet to try one. 😉

Yeah my dad can hug me, I don't mind! I believe it's a matter of time and just a phase kids are going through. Puberty can be rough as I have experienced with my younger brother. We can be really close and the next day he won't even talk to me. Oh well, he can't help it either.

I’m like paddy too. My parents are not allowed to hug or kiss me. At most they can do is shake my hand. 😂😂😂. This sounds so evil... but yea I don’t do hugs 😬
