Platform extension work at rear end of Sealdah station is in progress, Keeping train movement on.

Platforms extension work at Sealdah station is on keeping suburban train movement normal. See, how three trains enter and leave sealdah station with in a very short period of time .
This platform extension work was long pending. finally this work has been taken up.
Platform number 1 to 4 are being increased in length, so that 12 coach EMU can be accomodated. Presently these platforms are around of 210 metres in length. Which will be increased by another 60 metres. Out of that 10 metres extension has been already done on the buffer end. Rest of 50 -60 metres are being increased on the rear end.
