    Buckethead is a master at being relaxed while playing, thats what sticks out to me. Nice video brother.

    Why isn't this being taught in schools? I do not believe cursive is more important than this. You're doing the Lord's work.

      They don't teach cursive either, they barely teach writing anymore

    one of the best things Big B does is that he always tries to use all of his fingers, he doesn't do a fast shread with just the main three a lot of other guitarists use (pointer, middle and ring finger), a lot of the time his pinkie finger is doing work too.

    • @DannyHood-j
      @DannyHood-j หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its advantage for any guitarist to use their pinky finger. Buckethead has an extreme advantage. If buckethead only used 3 fingers his stretch more than guitarist with average hands. This is major advantage. People make videos on size of hand on fretboard as if it’s not important. Hand size is NOT important for guitarist who can play slash’s entire discography. Most classic rock songs average hands work perfect. Although hand size matters playing advanced guitar solos buckethead does, for the most part buckethead tunes are simple nowadays. Average hands usually struggle with polyphia modern guitar stuff

      Well, the bucket man does have long fingers, like Michael Jordan, who has big hands. Mmmm. But these are only one component associated with these persons, but these make a significant difference.
      The difference for me is quality. The bucket has excellent control of the instrument, but only a little else appears on the menu.
      I'd try a different restaurant for myself and my friends at some point. I'm not a loner; I cannot worship those who may choose or cannot do much else.

    This was an insanely useful lesson. It's incredible how relaxed and laid back it feels to play Buckethead's material, and when you show others they almost instantly think you're running a mile with one breath.
    All 3 tips are vital and almost completely overlooked. Thanks for this, and keep up the content cause you're a major help.
    Quick question though, what string guage were you using, and which do you personally prefer when playing like Buckethead?

    • @JackWGuitarLessons
      @JackWGuitarLessons  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much for the kind words! I use really light strings because I like the way they feel. I use 8-38 in standard.

    • @juicybiscuit527
      @juicybiscuit527 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JackWGuitarLessons Nice! Bucket usually played 9-42 so that's nearly identical. I play with 10-52's right now cause I tend to be over zealous, but those light strings play like a dream when you relax. Once again, well done.

    Such a great video! Buckethead's music is one of my favorite metal rabbit holes to go down. There's so much stuff to listen to! And by the way, I've been wondering, what is that rubber band you've got below the first fret? Does it change the sound?

    SPEED KILLS............Take away the bucket, the mask and wall of brain numbing speed and where is the song? Go ahead try and sing one of his tunes, but everyone can sing an ACDC , Guns and Roses, Van Halen tune, that is why he never will get radio airtime. Speed kills his chances of getting out to the radio world, no one can see his bucket or mask so reality kicks in and he is no where to be seen on the radio dial. But get him into a band and he will shine, it's his choice.

    • @Staklihen

      A song without vocals is not a song? Really meant seriously? Buckethead was in a band (Gun's and Roses) with overrated Songs and Singer 😉

    • @MadGunny
      @MadGunny 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He’s still the single greatest guitarist in history. He dosnt want the mainstream airtime, if he was after that he could have had it, but he enjoys his cult following and the buckethead persona.

    • @J-C1543
      @J-C1543 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can sing several Buckethead songs if I wanted to. Why do you campare him to bands like ACDC? Buckethead used to be quiet underground before he went on tour with Primus and before he joined GNR.
      Some of us enjoy instrumental tracks with lots of shredding. Plus all the other stuff he pulls off at shows.
      Sure, you can have whatever opinion but most of the time people choose to criticize something or someone based only on a brief knowledge of the subject.
      Now, can you sing Whitewash?
