You know what makes me feel I belong with an employer?
    Money

Just goes to show how out of touch these companies are. I remember a manager in a place I used to work would ask his staff to fill out these questionnaires anonymously, basically saying why they worked there and if they enjoyed working for the company. He got really annoyed when most people basically said that they were just working for the money and didn’t actually enjoy working for the job. This was a retail job btw.

One of my favorite things about you, Kirsche, is your refusal to stand down, and call this shit out whenever - and wherever - it rears its ugly head.
Expose this for what it is, in the full light of the sun and the blinding light of the truth.

A reminder, the whole twisted ability section of those documents, it is not that they are crazy in and of itself, it is an attempt to create an ultimate excuse. An excuse that can be twisted to justify every poor outcome as not being their fault, an excuse that justifies attacking all others as those that have hurt them in some vague fashion. It is less madness than a sincere attempt to create a universal justification for anything they want to do, it does however require one to be quite mad to honestly believe those words though.

I have a sinking feeling that fighting ESG/BRIDGE won't go too far.
Now, exposing Purpose Driven Marketing, however? That may be closer to the heart of the problem than one thinks (especially if one understands what "cause marketing" is), but I'm not sure Kirsche would be onboard with promoting apathy, especially given how Vtubers *feel the need to comment on the hottest trends.*
If Concord was proof of anything, having *no reaction to a new product of any kind* is what strikes fear into corporate chiefs.

    • @boobah5643
      @boobah5643 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      A) We know apathy can't protect from the various flavors of subversive, totalitarian politics. Variations on 'well, they'll eventually grow out of it' and 'it's just those crazies in Berkely/colleges/California' have been the default for the past twenty years that I've been paying attention, and that doesn't work. Because, as the man says, just because you're not interested in the crazy doesn't mean the crazies aren't interested in you.
      B) _Concord_ wasn't people having no reaction to a product; it was people looking at a product and rejecting it, _en masse._ Apathy doesn't make you a trending term in the games media for a couple weeks before release.

Obfuscation language. If 11,000 people are given a survey with a sliding bar for how important each question is, 76% of people might have moved the "inclusive workplace" slider off of neutral and up one step, but only 12% moved it to the top. The difference between "important" and "ideal".
There is also the process to consider of giving sliding bar surveys that do not have a neutral option, so you either have to agree or disagree with the provided statement. More people would probably put "yes" than "no" to an "Is an inclusive workspace important" question.
Also, on the DEI question, it could have been worded as "Do you consider DEI to be important", with no distinction between if the response of it being taken into consideration being good or bad, so that the results can be spun.

  • @Sputnik5790

Asking people about equality is like asking about world hunger. Nobody will answer YES I WANT MORE FUCKING WORLD HUNGER! the same goes for equality everyone will say yes it is good and kind of important. Equality is just fair isn't it? They do not know these people mean other things when they say equality.

It's stupid how they give all those statistics, but I can't seem to find good enough appendix with info how many people were questioned, in which area, what are their backgrounds and political beliefs. That 80+ % in one of those seems to be manufactured results by taking specific test group to ensure better results. That's at least my opinion on this since I work for a company that does business on two different continents and has multiple people from multiple backgrounds employed. The most concerned people about diversity and all those buzzwords are HR ladies no matter their age or race (most of them are from US tho). The rest of the people just try not to be dicks to each other since we're from all over the planet, talk about hobbies, work parties or whatever we've got to do for the day. Most of the youngsters here only want to learn the job, earn good money and talk to some people about the stuff they like, then go home and live their lives. I've seen maybe one or two examples of those DEI fanatics around my parts and they talk a lot about all those buzzwords, but never do any real work, so others have to cover for them.

I think the percentage in Philippines is misleading. Me and my co-workers are aware of DEI implementations in the company we work, in fact we are usually forced to take trainings for it as part of their "compliance". We usually just take the training, memorize the course and find a way to copy each others answers just to finish the assessments (Yes, so far, there have been assessments for DEI training modules).
In practice, we don't do it, nor really care. The mentality we have is login, do the minimum work, logout and never talk about work outside of our shift when we hang out. Companies don't really care about employees well being. They can pretend they do, but at the end of the day, we are just stats and numbers they can show to their investors.

I have just introduction levels of psychology but when she reads the info about the words in the circle of what they are looking for/at around 50:00 it sounds like almost all of them need to have (emotional) placed in front of the word. Like comfort needs to be (emotional) comfort because they sure as hell are not checking if there is enough AC to keep employees from blacking out from heat stroke.
