This was amazing to watch! I was surprised to not see the MK11 reveal trailer between Raiden and the Scorpions though especially right after the MKX trailer. Either way I loved this run-through MK history!

Seeing Kitana and Mileena in Shaolin Monks together is probably going to be like that in the Mortal Kombat 1 reboot.
Trailer quality really didn't pickup until Deadly Alliance, and man was it a grand entrance. It always confused me as to why NRS gave Scorpion his MK vs DC costume, when it's not even present in MK9.

the way reptile looks in the MK2 commercials makes believe that the creators never intended for him to look like a ninja, and it really was just technical limitations why they couldn't make him totally a reptile. Kinda makes me sad because I think reptile looks lame af when he is literally a reptile.

MKDA - Quan Chi beat Shang Tsung (Liu Kang is dead, and no actual hero in this game. Everyone die, even Raiden sacrifice himself at the end. The only game where bad guys win, the real darkest MK story so far)
MKD - Shujinko beat Onaga
MKA - Shao Kahn beat Blaze (supposed to be Taven but NRS just fuk it, let retcon it for the sake of reboot...poor Taven)
MKvsDC - Raiden & Superman beat Dark Kahn
MK9 - Raiden beat Shao Kahn
MKX - Cassie Cage beat Corrupted Shinnok

@@footdoggaming We may see Onaga return back in the upcoming MK1 game. The guy who leak this game state "wait till you see the dragon king". That definitely Onaga. Plus in MK11, Cetrion revealed that Liu Kang always has Onaga's fire all this time, hinting that Liu Kang and Onaga might be related. Make sense since Liu Kang was so strong in OG timeline, and the most obvious can transform and summon dragon. It will be dope to see Liu Kang vs Onaga. Plus, fun fact - Liu Kang actually deal double damage against Onaga gameplaywise in MKD. It will be a full circle references if now Liu Kang is related to Onaga, and finally fight each other canonically.

@@shawziiz5031 I doubt we'll be seeing lui kang fight much I don't think you'll be fighting the final villain if it's Onaga because Liu Kang would destroy him unless they do go that way with liu kang winning as he is easily the strongest character outside of the one being so far I assume we'll be getting more Titans who are probably close to him in Power because I doubt kronika was the strongest Titan
@@godslayer8894 There is a rumor about a brand new Titan will show up in the game, but only appear at the last scene to setup the sequel. Again, just a rumor. As for Onaga, remember back in MKD, the Kamidogu almost make him the second One Being. The only reason Shujinko manage to beat him is because he absorbed all fighters power at that time. Since this is new era, they can create many new lore, such as Liu Kang and Onaga is related all this time, and maybe a new lore that the Dragon King race is considered a threat to balance, hence why in the previous two timeline, Kronika make sure Onaga and Liu Kang never stay alive. Just some idea. Anyway if you ask me personally, I do want to see a brand new villain, and the new Titan is definitely gonna appear soon but right now, it seem guarantee Onaga will be in this game. Let see whether he is the main villain, or there will be a surprised one

Remember, we are talking in an era when you never seen anything like this before

Love the saga and lived the best when mk is new and still think that from 1 to rilogy are the best. Love the new game but for me from 4 on is no more the same, evem if. It is grow up in many good ways it will never be like when it came out. Mk 1 was a shock, mk 2 even better, some then complain for the 3 because mny new characthere but sincerely that complain is a yhing that came after, because at the time we as a kid go crazy with the cyborg and new warriors. Also we really love the ultimete and the trilogy. Then start that thing about the 3d graphic and mk change. There is surely some good chapter but not quite the same mk anymore. Nowdays most of the new player only care about the graphics and realism but in the end is the game that is the most important thing, i mean, i don't want to sound old but i'd rather paly to mk trilogy than mk11 with my friends. Anyway mk is still loved and it deserves that love. Smoke is still my favorite

If you listen to the BGM in the first commercial of MK being advertised on the SNES and Sega Genesis, with the kids running around screaming _MORTAL KOMBAT,_ that's where the theme song for the movies came from.

Holy cow people need to quit complaining. This literally took me through my entire life. I am not the biggest MK fan, but i rememver playing MK1 on my SNES. Playing 2 & 3 at friends houses. I lost interest at that point until recently with MK10, but holy shit i remember the trailers and they are very much a product of their time. I remember MK Armageddon coming out around my graduation. I FEEL this video. I LIVED this video. I can not accuratly describe the nostalgia this has brought to me. I remember arcades and arcade machines. I remember the old SNES days and thinking those games were the greatest things on the planet. I did my senior paper on cencorship in video games and MK was a huge part of implimenting the ESRB raiting system. I just switched off an old west game so expansive, it makes those old cartridge games look like baby toys, but that was my life. What a rush of emotions and memories. Thank you for posting this and bringing back my childhood and teen years.

Early 90s my guy. Ads were epic and artsy back then.
When you have very little budget and have to fill two minutes. I believe this was the version of the trailer that was shown in movie theaters. If you saw the TV commercial cut, which is much shorter, it actually comes across as more effective-- basically a bunch of kids running to their nearest arcade to play MK. But yeah, the full version ain't great.
For anyone thinking I'm bashing the first trailer I'm not. It just tripped me out lol
