You explain that the sequence is stride, load then starting the transfer of weight with your hips gets you to the vertical 90 to start the throwing motion. Do I need to worry about doing anything with my throwing arm elbow, like leading with it? Or does this sequencing put everything in the correct positioning naturally?
Sequence will naturally put it there! Unless you do something like really really weird- there are always exceptions to the rule. But if you have a naturally decent motion- the sequence is the primary focus! A lot of QB coaches stress the elbow and stuff like that when they don’t understand the throwing sequence as a whole. I hope this can help- thank you so much for asking this question!
coach, i’ve only been lifting weights and my arm finally got strong and i kept lifting but got sick, i lost 5 yards on my throw and don’t know what’s going on, if im being completely honest, my mechanics are very good and i’ve been training them for years, i have good hip rotation and everything, why do you think i lost this arm strength and what do you think i should do? thabjs
Honestly man it could be just because you got sick. I think give it some time, keep eating/lifting/being consistent and you will get it back. It just might take a week or so. No need to panic
