કારણકે આ હાજીખાની પૌંઆને સીંગ/ચણાની જેન ભઠ્ઠીમાં ફોડીને બનાવવામાં આવે છે એટલે તેમાં રેતીનું પ્રમાણ પણ વધારે હોય છે એટલે સરખા ચાળીને પછી તળવા. તો પણ થોડું ઘણું તેલ તો કાળું થશે જ કારણકે પૌંઆની બનાવટ જ એ રીતે થયેલી છે.
