From a first year student at UoB, there is genuinely no Uni I’d rather be at. The staff are brilliant, the Guild is amazing and the social life simply can’t be topped
I just firmed Birmingham, and thank you so much for the time stamps you're a lifesaver! I was swayed by the campus too, i visited before covid and i fell in love with the greenery in the centre 🥰 my subject building is right next to it too And thank you for being honest about safety, after all I heard I was so worried (I'm like that anyway, I hate walking around on my own and I'm not staying in accommodation so I'll have to travel every day) but I feel a bit better about it now
Its such a beautiful campus! I'm so so excited for you, hopefully I will see you around campus next year ❤️ so happy this was helpful too, honestly on campus you are so safe and you will be fine!
Love your videos so much it makes me so excited about possibly going to Birmingham next year! A video on accommodation would be amazing if you could do one ☺️
I always wanted to study in Birmingham for my MSc and this video helped me a lot!❤️ Been watching your videos for a long time such great content😍 love you😘💕
@@annarebecca The campus is even more beautiful in person 😍. I like that Birmingham seems to have a lot that you could do there once things open up. That was great for me to see, as I'm from London so I wouldn't want to move to a place that did not have a lot to occupy me with haha. I was also happy to see all of the buses. Now I just need to figure out where is a good area to live as a postgraduate student because I have heard things about Selly Oak.
If you do one on accom can you please give us some info on Pritchatts park! A lot of other videos ignore like Oakley court and I would love to know more! Love the videos keep it up xx
Loved this video so much!! Would you be able to tell me about PBL? Like how it works, how often you do it and if you find it effective? I have an offer for med but I don’t know if PBL will work well for me xx
Hey!! So PBL you have a case patient and as a group work out the diagnosis and questions based around the case. You also have very early clinical placements and both Manchester and Cardiff I know are very problem based. I hope this helps!!! Let me know if you have any more questions xx
Brilliant video as per Anna, not sure if you're living out in 2nd year but would be cool to see the process of choosing a house with different prices etc, just an idea 😂
Thank you so much! ☺️ I am living out in 2nd year, I definitely like this idea I’ve already chosen my house but I could definitely make a video explaining the whole process!
Thank you so much I love your videos. I wanted to know if you have a book you can refer to alongside your lectures just like we did in alevels. Thank you💕
So happy you enjoyed it!! As for textbooks, every module suggests like 2 huge books, so I guess yess but there like double the size of a whole subject a level text book which I just find abit unmanageable and don’t tend to use. The only one I really use is greys anatomy text book for students. Hope this helps xxx
Hey, Great and helpful video! I'm thinking about applying to UoB, but the thing that most worries me really is the safety. I did see what you said about the safety, but I wanted to ask if it is something that makes you worried to like go out somewhere by yourself? Also is there a way to know the more safer areas to live for the second-last year? Thanks x
I currently have an offer from Birmingham and will definitely be firming it but I was just wondering do you feel like the medical school is too big, because the year group is like 400. Do you feel as though this is a disadvantage by being in such a big year group because you would get less attention from tutors and lecturers?
No I actually don't, I was a little worried about this but I actually think all the lectures still make a huge effort to get to know you and think about every student. It's actually really nice to have so many people in your year and it just means MEDSOC is bigger with so many more medics to get to know! I'm so excited you have firmed so hopefully I will see you next year 💕
Ok so birmingham nightlife is not about nandoes and the city centre That might be cause your from birmingham The nightlife is all about the goose soak and circo ( pubs in selly ) Broad street is popular for first year students and you got nightlife in digbeth so lab11 and tektu etc The Selly oak safety thing is a myth. Lots of people at uni are scared of Selly . This is because many students are women and from very nice areas. In reality Selly is a completely normal area with little trouble Medic students are known at the uni as work hard play hard. I remember first years used to turn up drunk to the meal plans in infusion Thought now cause of covid things have changed a lot
Thanks I’m sure this will be really helpful, obviously my experience has been very different because half the places have been closed and covid so thanks for the tips for everyone.
Personally I think the sports of UoB is amazing the sports and fitness centre is brand new and huge! It was definitely the best uni sports centre I saw, there is also such a huge range of clubs that compete at a very high level so I think you would love it.
Hey!! so I actually have a playlists with all my videos on medicine applications which should really help.❤️ I would say try to make sure your UCAT is strong and practice over the summer.
