That thing has come a long way! Just browsing the old stuff, man. VINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks great 👍🏼
Thanks Bill I appreciate your comment. I have the top off the car right now making repairs. When I put the top back on I will do a more detailed video on how I built the mechanism.
I really appreciate your support, sir !
Very complex job about all that top convertible system , I think you did an awesome job !
🙏👊👊👊
Very nice job on that Robert, I'm impressed!
Thanks.Yeah I was very happy to be able to use those door parts to make a convertible top.
This Rat Rod is to cool, I will be back here in the morning to watch the rest of the video and more, have to go to the neighbors now to have a wine (Vino) lol
I'm planning on Whacking the top off of my '72 f100 . So I will eventually need a top Your video is most helpful. Lots of good clear shots of how the folding mechanism was put together.
Right on thanks for watching. If you need to get any more info from me, my email is. Ratrobhartman@yahoo.com
Holy smoke you came a long way
Yeah it's coming together pretty nicely, Thanks for stopping in again.
Looking good. I like the time spent explaining the process
Thanks for sharing, right on! Yep I enjoy creating car parts, repurposing things. 👍
Nice work, very detailed on how you did it too. I'm very impressed.
awesome idea using them door openers saves alot of work making pivots and slides, top work
Very cool man! Love your creativity! 😁
Thanks Dave. Still on cloud 9 👍 what an awesome weekend to spend with fellow TH-camrs. Awesome to have met you thanks for stopping in. Robert
lot of thinking on that one, i watched bill hines do this on his chop top convertibles . this kind of work is not easy. good job.
Thanks I replaced about 15 frames and doors and I was looking at the closer arms I thought how well they pivot and slid inside of each other l could Make them work out for a convertible top mechanism so very cool appreciate your comment
Very-Very Cool Robert👍 You’ve put a ton of thought and Engineering into that top! Thanks for showing the details👍Your welds look very sweet… welding is not a strong skill of mine! …. It’s on my bucket list to practice more and get better… Thanks!
Yeah Kev sometimes in my video I'll mention that I look at everything to see if I can turn it into a car part .so when I'm at work nothing is safe around me. 🥴
Thats pretty awesome brother, have a 53 chevy pickup looking to convert, this helps out a lot 😀 👍 one off
Great work. I wish I had wood working skills (and tools). It would make my build so much easier, and lighter.
Cool thanks for watching.l like your channel just got done watching the last episode 👍
Looking good so far man !!!
I saw you over at Scott Rods so I thought I would see what you have going on. WOW, nice work. I subscribed to your channel so I can see the rest of your build. Thanks for sharing.
Great work 😎👍 lI like the wood .
I love that Rag Top, there is some good engineering in the mechanism, i also watch the video on repairing the side and door, i saw it on the home page but couldn't find it in the videos to comment on, but it was really good, catch you on the next one
it was great timing, I was replacing some Norton door closers at the time when I was making that mechanism. so it worked out awesome. Thanks for watching! 😁👍
absolutely fantastic am starting to work up a collapsible top for a custom car... i will try to find you on facebook
Dave sent me!
Absolutely brilliant repurposing the door closers. 👍👍👍
Thanks again for the support! Yeah I was replacing 13 doors, and the closers when I got the idea to use the arms off the automatic door closers. It's one of the things about building a rat rod you can use so many different things to create car parts. I've got a steering wheel that I made out of a single groove pulley, My console is made out of a retired missile part, I hope I can utilize a part that I got out of a C-130 jet engine for my air intake. Thanks again Robert.
