these redesigns are top tier, but sadly companies wont use them. hey at least sometime steam finally updated their twitter logo in the application
The only problem with these videos is that these fantastic designs aren't being used by these companies 😭

@@seehundnasensalat one thing i've noticed with these designs is that they're aesthetically pleasing but most of the time, not optimized enough for the user to use it. the design style that she uses also isn't the one i think most billion dollar companies would want to have on their website.
edit: i found this being a problem with her instagram re design but newer videos have less of this problem.

This is looking great and all, but I’m noticing a distinct lack of intrusive ads all over the place in the redesign. I’m worried this might make IMDb a pleasant experience to use.
use some app that blocks the adversaries
it would be very cool indeed!
it would make IMDB a very profitable part of amazon that would'nt be shut down after a year because they chose the people instead of profit, and surely the server costs would be very low and totally recoverable!

sadly it would also be a javascript mess. i appreciate old design because its easy to parse without tackling js.

This is absolutely insane, I use IMDb daily and I'm still discovering new pages. It's a black hole of a mess. Your redesign is perfect, I really wish it could be the official one ASAP 🔥🔥

Isnt what make its charm and personality, its like the thrill of shuffling thru boxes at a garage sale hoping to find a treasure. Not everything needs to be soul less and "easy".
Same here, there's no day I don't use it and this redesign would make my experience in it much smoother and less frustrating. We need to make it happen!

I love how not only do your desings always look great. They are realistic in that they take in to account branding, user interaction and other busniess real world aspects that normally gets lost when I see people do redesigns like this. And again they look so good!
Maybe not your thing, and maybe wouldn't get the views, but would be cool to see you take a stab at redesigning dekstop applications. Audacity, Davinci Resolve, Unity Engine, area couple content creation applications that would be cool to see.

It's amazing how good a site can look when you have a proper desktop layout. So many sites cheap out on the desktop design and just blow up the mobile layout without considering functionality.

That was brilliant. If you can somehow turn this into an extension for Brave and Chrome you'd make a legion of people very happy.
Nearly impossible, she could write a css template for stylus but that's all. Everything in the direction of frameworks for spa etc. is impossible without rehosting the website.
@@immnlshn extensions can rewrite the page contents, this is very much possible and there have been extensions that redesign websites like Roblox in the past.

I'd honestly love to see how you would tackle the "edit" pages of IMDb. I tried going there once to edit the cast list on one of my favorite shows, and *trust me*, it's 100x worse than the actual site. Horribly cluttered tables, confusing dialog options, confirmation pages for things that don't need confirming... if there was a redesign in 2015 and 2022, I'm pretty sure the edit pages haven't been touched since the site launched in 1990!
YES YES YES. It's an absolute mess. I literally get so overwhelmed whenever I want to add or change cast and just never want to see it again. I just wish Amazon would update IMDb and also their shop web+app, it's sad honestly.
Storytelling, video script, transitions, editing and above all, the command you have on your craft is 🤯 💯
I don't usually comment much on videos, but I feel like I have to. Your videos are, without a doubt, the absolute best when it comes UI/UX design. The editing is great and redesigns are great, while being fun to watch and a great source of inspiration. Love your channel. Keep going, and I'm sure you'll reach a million subscribers in no time.
Awesome stuff! The fact that you stuffed all this work into a 12 minute video along with a sponsor is insane. The fact that it didn't feel rushed is even more insane.
I actually doing a local imdb/netflix and since im really bad at design, i've been watching this video and thinking "i might try to do this design" and then I actually notice you gave us a figma file. Your redesigns are awesome and you even give them for free, thats cool
Once again, the saviour of UI!!! I think it would be really cool if you tried to redesign opensource apps like Rstudio (because they might actually be amenable to implementing your suggestions!) or notoriously badly/inconsistent over desktop->mobile apps/sites like tumblr

Amazing job! You have a really good "way" of analysing and fixing the UX problems, not just good design. I like the way you deconstruct the larger elements into smaller ones, and then add them until the overall page makes sense.
Excited about this one, your Steam redesign was the first I've seen that actually understands you need to accommodate having content.

Amazon is incapable of creating any type of good UI. Just check AWS.

@juxtopposed you don't want to touch that can of worms. Every service has its own UI, and it gets worse as you use the most niche ones.
But what grinds my gears is trying to find pricing about the services. You have to get a PhD in Computer Science for that.

While imdb's design may be a dated and confusing mess... Take a look at the forms used for updating content for some true web horror!

Information density is good. Not every web-page has to be "minimal and appealing". The entire point of IMDb is to be as information-rich as possible, just like Wikipedia.
