Awesome vid as always; I was there on the 17th as well. Whereabouts do you park to get this angle of 26R over the fence? Thinking of shooting some photos when its nicer out.
Interesting! Were you over on the 'mounds' just west of the UPS facility? I went there on the next morning to try my hand at recording, only I ran into a few problems. 1) camera didn't have a good enough zoom. 2) it started to rain pretty badly shortly after I got the spot.
@delpillar I managed to get a sort of ok video at the end of the run way where I could get close. Mind you, it was recorded without the tripod. It was also kind of spare of the moment as I was on my way back. Would be interesting to see if I could ever get out there at the same time as you when there is good weather...
The A330's gear is very well designed to handle the landing impact. The rear wheels take most of the initial "bump" out of the landing, making it softer for the passengers. I've been onboard with this type of aircraft and both landings felt as if we were floating down the runway.
Airbus pilots try to hold in ground effect forever just to get a "ultra smooth" touchdown. Airbus clearly recommends they don't do that, for many reasons, one being, if you need to stop in a hurry you have already eaten up 1/3 of the runway and haven't even touched down. I'd rather have a firm safe landing then sliding of a wet or icy runway after a smooth one.

@Jimfoxyboy well my camera only has 12x zoom and i use a telephoto lense too but i shot over half my videos without a telephoto lense.
Now I get to see after comparing with other planes how Philippine Airlines really have that hallmark of soft landing...😎 So cool Philippines...

Yup, I'm sure about it...By April 1,2011 they will use their Boeing 777-300ER(I read it from the newspaper and It's in their website).
