- Every block was hand placed and moved until it matched the beat. I've listened to this song MANY times in the process of making this haha. For those wondering how I made this, the software is called Algodoo. It's free and allows you to run 2D physics simulations. Once I learned how the scripting worked I was able to add the spawning of other objects on collision and changing colors. If people enjoy this type of thing, I'm sure I'd be able to produce a more polished product in the future.

j89 - you may be right, it may have been the part where he was least lazy and missed the fewest sounds because they were too inconvenient for him, or he just wasn't smart or creative enough to make it happen, even though he's not even using real objects, just a computer that does all of the work for him and is not limited by gravity and timing, which is the whole point of something like this.

COOL! I have a question: Were there start positions you could use for the ball or did you have to reset the whole thing in order to test just one part?
Shenanigan S He could probably just make one part at a time until it's perfect and then combine it all
You could just move the ball anywhere but you would still need to make sure the music starts at exactly the right spot
Each section runs individually and simultaneously. The end of one of the sections didn't trigger the start of the next.
It's a program called Algodoo. (I also use it) You can drag the ball anywhere you want.

idk if it is my eyes, but the music is not syncing with the video? like the beats seem to happen 1/5 of a second before to the bounce?
EggyRepublic Yeah, I thought it was a problem with my bluetooth headphones, so I wired them up instead, and it got even worse. Refreshed the video, which sorta fixed it, but the timing still seems a bit late. Might just be me because I play beat based games way too often, but there were so few times when it was actually synched up. It bothered the shit outta me.
Still a great video. Just.. Even if you have to cheat a little, I'd rather it be more in sync.

Augusto No, it's only about ten or twenty milliseconds of lag, and it even does line up perfectly at times. I have EXTREMELY overly high standards for this sort of thing. And it's still a great video.

You could probably auto generate all the blocks ( or any transition probably ) , when a note is played a random block can be added with some angle to the player. After a run is complete you can play with the randomness and place blocks in advance to get exactly the same simulation. predicting where to place a block in advance does a pretty hard problem, especially handcrafted :)

Did anyone else notice that the Song points out the background sounds in the Song. For example you might hear in 2:16 the kind of reverse(don't know what else to call it) sound was heard 3 consecutive times broken up for the same duration and it was all in total going consecutively 3 times except for the last one. Have a listen your self.
