The INSANE Escalators at Grand Central Madison

- These are one of the four banks of escalators connecting the LIRR platforms with the Madison Concourse, and they are so long you have to plan this escalator ride into your travel time. Standing still, the journey takes roughly 2 minutes.

Last week I had to go on this escalator.. Our first time at Grand Central , we took the LIRR. My boyfriend talked me into going on it. I have a fear of heights. This was really, really scary. This goes straight up. I could not look up the whole time, I thought I would fall. Watching the video is one thing, but experiencing it is Terrifying..... I looked up the videos on TH-cam. Seems this is the longest escalator. GRAND Central is 14 Stories below NYC. . We took the elevator on the return trip home. Never again would I ever go on this. ( I could see a lot of future accidents happening on this. I do not recommend for children or seniors....too dangerous
Where is the elevator ?
I was on that thing the other day. I had to think twice before going on it, it looked like I was going up a ski lift . Then you have the idiots that want to walk up and down around you putting you in a precarious situation . When you get off that thing it's like accomplish something!
I went on this going up it felt so weird and I felt so off balanced going down i had so much anxiety i kept thinking I'm going to fall to my death forward

I took this escalator for the first time today and It was awful. Going up I had a hard time, but coming down to go home was beyond anxiety and awful. Never going to this train stop again because of the escalator. I felt so unsafe and definitely was so scared of fainting and dying. It wasn't fun at all. Do not recommend with kids or older people.
I had the same experience! I was afraid I would faint! It was beyond scary. Going up was ok, coming down was terrible.
Took the elevator down... going up is okay but going down feels like certain death haha no thank you, elevator from now on

Was on that escalator yesterday and my mom had to cover her eyes on the way up, she was terrified. Upon looking back whilst still on the escalator but near the top, I too was freaked out - it’s HIGH. One wrong move and I feel like someone could tumble down and take a couple people out with them.
I absolutely despise this thing, all of that, and you're still below subway level.😢
